Report on Show, Providence, R. I., week of September 25th, 1906 Charles Lovenberg, Manager. 44 With a very frappe audience the show went very well. From a general standpoint a big improvement over last week. Scott & Johnson. Well-known colored act. Singing, dancing and acrobatic. Good three a day turn. 15 Minutes in one, 3 shows. Rado & Bertman. The man in this act does some very good contortion work and some novelties in the way of acrobatic dancing. The sketch amounts to little and the woman is excess baggage. The clever work of the man, however, makes it an exceptionally good three a day act. 15 Minutes in 3. Mills & Morris. A pair of girls well-kn own on the circuit. Always acceptable in the three a day section. 12 Min. in One. Martin Bros. Good xylophone players. Answer the purpose fully as wel as the Johnson and others doing two shows 14 Min in One 3 shows. Geo. W. Day. Blackface comedian. Mr. Day offered a lot of new, bright material but it seemed to go over the heads of to-day's audience. I imagine it will go better tonight. 17 Min. in One. 2 shows. A. C. Duncan. Ventriloquist, who offered today the best act I think he has ever given us in the way of bright, up-to-date material. Was second best laughing hit of the shows. 17 min. Open in 3, close in One. Edwin Stevens. Versatile monologuist, who introduces a number of novelties for an act of this kind. He did not go as strong today as on his previous visit but there is no denying that he is a most finished artist. 23 Min. Open 3 close in One. 2 shows. Max Waldon. Female impersonator. Best act of the kind we have ever played, laughing receiving the greatest amount of applause of any act on the bill. 15 Min. Full stge2 shows. Gallagher & Barrett These men offer a very unique idea in the way of an Irish talking act. To my mind, the best act of this style that we have ever had. Went strong with today's audience. 19 Min. Open in 2, close in One. 2 shows. Simon, Gardner & Co. In their familiar act, "The New Coachman". The laughing hit of today's show and it is certainly mighty funny. Kept the audience screaming for 35 Min. Full stage, 2 shows. Keith Motion Pictures, With the exception of Modern Brigands a good chase pictures, the showing they are giving this week is at best only fair. I have not been satisfied with the pictures they have been giving us as a whole, and it seems impossible for me to get the pictures I request, notably the Peace Conference and the "Raffles, the Dog". I wish Mr. Wash would take up this matter in New York for me. Zimmer. Juggler. Always a valuable 3 a day acg. 10 Min. in One. 3 shows. Stanley & Brockman Properly following Geo. W. Day, omitted from above. The same act they gave before with the addition of a little singing in One replaicing their old finish. Did not go as well as upon their previous appearance. May be better tonight.
