(F. J. O'Connor) Boston Show, Week of Sept. 25, 1906. 45 Stereopticon, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Usual selection of interesting hoe and foreign views. W. H. Whittle, 3 shows, 19 min. open in 2, close in 1--Ventriloquil comedian. .Been commented on in the other houses. Quite an ambitious act for the 3-a-day division and would be better in a lower position than it is possible for us to give it. Nessen and Nessen, 3 shows, 10 min. full stage---Club jugglers and hoop rollers. One of the sort of acts that always go well here, and today was no exception. Excellent from the 3-a-day standpoint. Althea Twin Sisters, 3 shows, 6 min. in 1--Acrobatic dancers. Considerably handicapped by being compelled to work in 1. They have a pleasing appearance and it is a fair act. Five Pirocoffis, 2 shows, 10 min. full stage--Three men and two women juggling household utensils. While none of their feats were either remarkable or out of the ordinary, they costume well and are rapid workers. Just about got by in this position. Klekko and Fravoli, 2 shows, 14 min. in 1--Man and woman, operatic vocalists. They went as well as any of the straight singing acts usually do here, and could stand a lower place on the bill. I think if 3 minutes were clipped from their act it would be to its advantage. Lydia Knott, 2 shows, 20 min. full stage--Assisted byAllan Murnane, Chas. Kenyon, DeWitt Newing. There has been but one change in this cast of characters since I saw it at the Union Square, Murnane is but little better than his predecessor, and the play could be considerably improved with fair people in the parts. The piece in itself seems all right but I should not care to have it again with the same cast under any circumstances. The finish, which is quite exciting, just about lets the piece out. Chassino, 2 shows, 16 min. open in 1, close full stage--Second week for this man. His work sent as strong as at any time during the preceding six days. Big hand at the finish. Daisy Harcourt, 2 shows, 15 min. in 1--English character comedienne. First time here. Clever and lively young woman who gave several excellent interpretations of London theatregoers. Her work was appreciated this afternoon but by no means up to the point which it will go this evening when she will go big. Blockson and Burns, 2 shows, 12 min. full stage, close in 1--Eccentric comedians and burlesque acrobats. These people did not go nearly as well as on their last appearance. The audience evidently wise to their "burlesque" and it shoild be given a rest. Will move them up for tonight. Jack and Gilda Cannon, 3 shows, 13 min. in 2--Comedy and singing sketch. I agree with Providence, not for us. Mattie Lockett, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Child impersonator and dancer. Has a most pleasing personality and got the audience in this very late spot in the bill. Secured a big hand. Will try to get her up the bill to use her in the afternoon. Comment:-The show is not as good as last weeks', which could hardly be expected. We had an unusually frosty audience today, did not come to until the Military Octette. I think the show will prove a fairly satisfactory one on rearrangement.
