Report on Providence Show, Week of October 9th. Charles Lovenbeg, Manager. The big end of the show is alright, in fact very good, other than that it lacks comedy. The small end of the show is rather weak, and the acts so short as to be of little value. Because of the shortness of the three a day material, we were obliged to get another act. Rice & Walters Fairly good little rural sketch with some knockabout tumbling at the finish. 11 Min. Full stage. 3 shows. Robin Heath At best, this young man can only be classed as fair. His best work is his songs. Stories all old and not well told. 10 Min. in One, 3 shows. Althea Twins Well-known sister act. Alright, but too short to be of value. 6 Min. in 2, 3 shows. Corbley & Burke Irish talking act, good three a day act, but no better than that. One of the men is new. 15 Min. in One, 3 shows. Kenyon & DeGarmo Equilibristic act. Best thing we have in the three a day section. Good act of its class. 11 Min. in 2, 3 shows. Wynne Winslow Soprano vocalist. Seems to be a little better this time than on previous occasions. Went very well indeed. Good value for the money. 12 Min in One, 2 shows. Four Fords Best dancingact we ever had. The audience thoroughly recognized it as such. 16 Min. full stage, 2 shows. DO NOT CLOSE IN ONE. Kern's Mimic Dog This is a novelty in a way, and get a few laughs. It will probably attract the children, but it is not the kind of an act that I would want to repeat. 8 Min. in 2, 2 shows. The Three Keatons. These people got a big reception, but their act went much flatter than on previous visits, showing that the audience has had all they want of them, as they have made practically no changes to their act. Would not want them again. 25 Min. open full stage, close in one. 2 shows. Salerno I co-incide with Philadelphia that this man is the best juggler in the business. 17 Min. full stage. 2 shows. Military Octette This act is pretentious in a way, but does not give the value for the money that Ye Colonial Septette did. However, it was a great novelty and is alright to play but not to repeat it that salary. 30 Min. Can follow a full stage act that leaves a clear stage, by having a short wait. Closes with about 3 Min. in One. 2 shows. Cressy & Dayne In their new act, "Town, Hall, Tonight". These people divided the honors of the show with the Fords. 25 Min. Full stage, 2 shows. Moving Pictures. Peace Conference and Raffles the Dog, both good pictures.
