New York Criticism--Oct. 16th, 1905. KILMER & DALY: 2 men. In their comedy:-"Matrimonial Agent" One portrays the character of a rube, while the other works straight and then changes to a maid. Received some few scattered laughs. This is not a bad act. Just about gets by. 15 min.-full stage. ROBIN HEATH: Monologue and Parody Singer: He may develop later on. The stories are badly told. Just gets out on his songs. 12 min. in one- 3 shows DURBYELLE SISTERS: Shadowgraphists: A neat little three show act. Very nicely received. 13 min. in two AL COLEMAN: Stories. Well known. Material all old, although he handles it fairly good. Not improved since last here and just about passes in this place. Cut story about woman dropping egg. 12 min. in one-3 shows KENYON & DeGARMO: Equilibristic Act. on a supported ladder. Nicely costumed. Very skillful. Greatly appreciated. Big applause on the finish. Elegant three show act. 12 min in two. JOE REICHEN: First American Appearance: Only has four dogs. Act consists of balancing and I believe one of the best acts of this kind we ever had. While they were not enthusiastic over the work of the dogs, I believe it was greatly appreciated. He, however, received a big lot of applause on the finish. 10 min. in two- 2 shows VILLAGE CHOIR: 2 men and 2 women: Well known. Elegant voices. Each number strongly applauded. 16 min. in one-3 CRESSY & DAYNE: Presenting:- "The New Depot." Received some little advance applause. Comedy went fully as strong as when last here. Continuous laughter throughout. Big applause on the finish. 22 min. full stage- 2 shows. ED J. PRICE: Monologuist: This man is giving us the same material as when last here. He did fairly well in this place. 11 min. in one- 2 shows. AGOUST FAMILY: 3 men and a woman: In their well known juggling act. I think from the novelty standpoint, the edge is worn off. Act is nicely dressed and they managed to secure nuerous laughs throughout. Got a big strong hand for the plate-throwing on the finish. 19 min.-full stage- 2 shows "Children's War." Only fair, but may appeal to the children. "Rescued by Rover." Second week. Good. Going fully as strong as last week. N O T E :-------The small end of the show lacks comedy. The balance of the show is alright, but did not go well on account of the icy condition of the audience. Presume it will go better to-night.
