New York Criticism--Oct. 15tht, 1905. --oo(2)oo-- MURPHY-NICHOLS & CO:- 2 men and 2 women in their well known theatrical burlesque: "From 'Zaza' to 'Uncle Tom.'" Received some advance applause. Act did not go as strong as on other occassions due to the frappe condition of the audience. Presume it will go better to-night. 25 min. open in one-close in full stage- 2 COAKLEY & McBRIDE: 2 men. Blackface. Talking, Singing and Dancing. They have changed their act considerable since last here. Had a very stiff place to fill, but negoiated it fairly well. 21 min. in on- 2 shows FLYING RATHBUNS: 3 men. Trapeze and Casting Act. Did not go as strong as some of the other acts we had of this style, although they work quick and perform some very good tricks. At the price the act is thoroughly alright. 10 min. full stage- 2 shows KINETOGRAPH: "The Ill Rewarded Conjuror." Good. "Sacred Elephants." Showing elephants bathing. Good. Children's War." Only fair, but may appeal to the children. "Rescued by Rover." Second week. Good. Going fully as strong as last week. N O T E :-------The small end of the show lacks comedy. The balance of the show is alright, but did not go well on account of the icy condition of the audience. Presume it will go better to-night.
