(F. J. O'Connor) Boston Show, Week of Oct. 23, 1905. Stereopticon, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Usual selection of home and foreignviews. Pryors, 3 shows, 11 min. open in 3, close in 1--Instrumentalists singers and dancers. Excellent opening act for this house. Durbyelle Sisters, 3 shows, 13 min. full stage--Finger shadowgraphists. They work in full view of the audience with the screen at their rear, and although we have lately had Chassino and Mr. and Mrs. Darrow, these people went very well today. Walter Daniels, 3 shows, 14 min. in 1--Dramatic character impersonator. Well-known on the circuit. All of his characters were applauded today and he gives an excellent act of this sort from the 3-per-day standpoint. Borani and Navarro, 2 shows, 14 min. open full stage (can close in 1)--Man and woman, in eccentric comedy acrobatics. First time here. The contortion work of the woman andthe tumbling of the man were the strong points. Good act for the early 2-show section. Kern's Mimic Dog, 2 shows, 9 min. full stage (will work him in 1 hereafter)--The dog behaved much better today in the matter of facial expressions than when I saw him in New York, and his characters aroused considerable laughter. To my mind, it does not seem as though it would prove exceptionally strong, but nevertheless, we will try it later on the bill tonight. Fred Ward and John Curran, 2 shows, 28 min. open ful stage close in 1--Got a good hand on their entrance, They have added several new characters in their comedy, "The Terrible Judge", which went big. The Valdares, 2 shows, 12 min. full stage--Four women and two men, trick bicytcle riders. In the face of some of the bicycle teams we have had here, they can by no means be classed but just ordinary. Just about got by in this spot today. May Belford, 2 shows, 18 min. in 1--English character comedienne. First time here. She has a pretty face and very taking personality. Scored the hit of the show up to this point. Should be booked for a return to this house at once. Edwin Keough and Company, 2 shows, 22 min. open full stage close in 1--In burlesque specialty, "A Vaudeville Surprise", introducing a scene from "Ingomar", which was followed closely and with much attention throughout. I think their singing and dancing close in 1 takes considerable from the effect of the act. Will shift them around with Ward and Carran. Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following motion pictures: 1. Whale Fishing. Excellent picture and followed with absorbing intrest. 2. The Servant Girl Problem. Good comedy film, excellent photographically and aroused considerable laughter today. The Maginleys, 3 shows, 10 min, full stage--Man and woman, on the double trapeze and suspended ropes. Excellent act from the 3-a-day standpoint. Would give them a much beetter position if it were possible. Comment:- The show is not up to that of last week, but that does not by any means mean a poor one. I think the Navajo Girls will be going big before the week is out. May Belfort scored quite a big hit here today and I wish she might be kept in mind for a rebooking for this house. We had an excellent Monday audience and will probably do an excellent business throughout the week.
