GRAND OPERA HOSUE OCT. 9TH. 05. PITTSBURG, PA. WHISTLING TOM BROWNE-15 minutes in two, close in one. Mr. Browne is not a big favorite with us but does fairly well in the three a day section. GORMAN & WEST-16 minutes, interior, Singing, dancing and talking. This I consider one of the best among the three a day acts. EVA WESTCOTT-"An Episode in Modern Life". Interior, 14 minutes. Miss Westcott does not go very well with our patrons. We like the act but not the actor. DIXON & ANGER-"The Baron and his Friend". German comedians. 16 minutes in one-street. I do not consider this a good act. They just about get away with our patrons. SILVANO-Equilibrist. Good, 10 minutes. We like this act very much. On Monday we had him on at 8:05 and moved him to 8:35 and he went very well with us. LA PETITE MIGNON-12 minutes in one. Imitations, singing and dancing. Went very well with us. Considering the salary it is one of the best values we have in vaudeville. FINLAY & BURKE- 17 minutes, interior, close in one about 4 minutes. "Stageland Satire". This act is well known over the entire circuit. They are doing exactly the same as they have done for us before and going very well but I feel sure that if Mr. Finlay would change his opening song "Auto" it would improve the act. WILLIAMS & WALKER GLEE CLUB-17 minutes, close in one 4 minutes. Sixteen well dressed colored men who sing very well. The act wast a big hit and the members the most gentlemanly colored people we have ever played. LEE HARRISON-15 minutes in one. Street-monologue. Mr. Harrison went very well, especially his song "Sherlock" Holme FAMOUS AGOUST FAMILY-15 minutes, full stage, interior. This act is well dressed but they do nothing remarkable except their finish with rapid throwing of plates. I think this is a very much overpaid act. If it were cut in two they would be well paid and I would figure that a good part of that salary they would be entitled to on account of their costume. ELEANOR FALK-Singing comedienne in one. 12 minutes. Miss Falk is going very well with us, fully as well as on first appearance here. BLOCKSON & BURNS-13 minutes. Full stage. Special set, closing in one 3 minutes. The Mr. Burns of this team can neither sing, dance nor do any acrobatic work and his costume is old and filthy. I think the costume that Mr. Burns is wearing was the one worn by the first student employed by Mr. Blockson. I am sure we never want him again unless he should have another act and a new partner, not student. KINETOGRAPH-"Stolen by Gypsies". This is a very interesting picture and pleases very much. John F. Harris.
