GRAND OPERA HOUSE OCT. 16th, 05. PITTSBURG, Pa. BERTINI & BROCKWAY-3 shows. 10 minutes, garden. Closing in one about 3 min. Singing, dancing and contortion work. This act is nicely dressed and gets by very well in the three a day section. DE LENT-Garden. 12 minutes, three shows. Juggler. This act is doing very well for us and is one of the few three a day acts that we can play as late as eight o'clock. CHARLOTTE RAVENSCROFT-Oilo in one. 3 shows. 10 minutes. Singing and violing playing. Miss Ravenscroft is appearing at 8:10 with us and going very. I consider her one of the best three a day acts in the business and would not hesitate to recommend her to number two on any bill. A. O. DUNCAN-Interior in three. 19 minutes. Mr. Duncan is going exceptionally big with us this week. He is undoubtedly the best comedy ventriloquist in the business and is going fully as strong with us now as he did on his first appearance in Pittsburg. MAX WALDON-14 minutes. Garden. Female impersonations and character changes This is undoubtedly the best act of the kind that I have ever seen and he is going very big with our patrons, much better than on his first appearance here two years ago. He is compelled to take several bows at the close of his act during every performance. JOHN BIRCH-Street in one. 15 minutes with one of the best ideas for an act in one in vaudeville, which Mr. Birch only does fairly well-still he goes big with our patrons and feel sure he would do the same on any bill. SIMON & GARDNER Co. Full stage, 30 minutes in "The New Coachman". This is one of the best laughing sketches we have ever played. It is a roar from start to finish and they are a great addition to any bill. THE VASSAR BIRLS-Opening in one about 10 minutes, then to full stage. Wood. This is the third time we have played this act and I do not hesitate to say that it is going better than at any former engagement here. The act is very neat, the electric display making a great picture, and the girls good musicians. Taken as a whole, I consider it one of the best musical acts we have in vaudeville. FORD & WILSON-Street in one. 14 minutes. Black face singing and dancing act. They are going very well in a very hard place on our bill. CECILIA LOFTUS-20 minutes, full stage, closing in one 3 minutes. Miss Loftus is gong very well with us and is surely improving our business. Miss Loftus is one of the most agreeable stars we have ever played, being very anxious to do anything that would improve her act or the business of the house. She draws a class of people who are not regular patrons of vaudeville and I feel sure that with the show we are giving them this week we will be able to retain as regular patrons a large percentage of the people. SPISSEL BROS. & MACK-10 minutes, full stage, interior. Restaurant scene. They have a very hard place on the bill, closing the show, and are only going fair with us. I think their act is entirely too slow, much slower than during their first engagement with us. I intend to tell them tonight that I think it would improve their act to do it much faster. KLEKKO & FREVOLI-3 shows. Olio in one. Operatic singers. 12 minutes. Whie this act is well dressed and have good voices, they don't seem to go very well with our patrons. SCOTT & JOHNSON-Colored singing, dancing and talking act. 16 minutes in one. Street. This is not a good act and just about gets through in the three a day section. I would not play them a return. John P. Harris.
