PHILADELPHIA SHOW, OCT. 23RD, 1905. LO MIS & HALL-3-Man and woman in what they styled a comedy creation entitled, "Nancy's Cousin Sal" in which the man did a rube and the woman a wench. This act proved undoubtedly the weakest that has ever appeared on this stage, and not only failed to hold the attention of the audience but went off without a hand. I was compelled to close it. The man told me that it was his first appearance in a "regular" theatre, his only experience being with a tent show, and a few clubs around New York. 15 mins. C. D. F. 3 & Olio 1. KENYON & DEGARMO-3-Equilibrists. Man and woman, woman working on a ladder supported by the man. Good workers, and they not only succeeded in gaining the goodwill of the audience, but they were warmly applauded at the finish. Good act. 12 mins. Gar. 3. ROBIN HEATH-3-Black face monologue and songs. This boy shows improvement since last here, and although his talk does not amount to much, he sings his songs well, each number getting a good hand. Good three a day act. 15 mins. Olio 1. 3 ARMSTRONGS-3-Comedy bycyclists. Three men, two working straight, one eccentric. These boys work rapidly, introducing some new stunts, and the comedian is better than the average found in an act of this kind. Lots of laughter and applause, and from a three a day standpoint, act can be classed as very good. 20 mins. Gar. 4 PANTZER TRIO-2-Contortionists. One man doing comedy, two nice looking girls. Act well known on circuit. Received advance applause, and whole act seemed to be enjoyed by the audience. Always a good act in this house. 13 mins. C. D. F. 3. CLARK & FLORETTE-2-Songs and dances. Man and woman, neat dressers, and good stage presence. Best part of the act is the man's coon shouting. Whole act may be called good, especially from a three a day standpoint, and went well to-day. 13 mins. Drap. in 1. FERRY CORWEY-2-European musical clown. The work of this man was an absolut novelty, being away from anything our audience had yet seen. He really is an artist as a musician, and the comedy introduced seemed to appeal. Scored strongly to-day, and will undoubtedly be another act that will be talked about. 12 mins. Gar. in 3 HARRY DAVENPORT-2-This is another Philadelphia favorite. Although this man's work is very quiet, it is also thoroughly artistic, and never fails to win out. 12 mins. Olio 1. PAUL CONCHAS-2-This man's work was reviewed in Boston. As good an artist in his line as Salerno is in his. The comedy assistant aroused lots of laughs, due largely I think to the fact, that the audience was keyed up to such a tension that anything humorous came as a relaxation. Will be the talk of Philadelphia. 23 mins. Gar. in 4.
