New York Criticism--Oct. 30th, 1905. GARNELLA & HARRIS: Man and woman. Acrobatic Comedy. Woman just about passes as a vocalist. Carnella is well known for his contortion work. The act went fairly good and is a good opener. 16 min. close in one about 2 minutes-- 3 shows THE DARROWS: Finger Shadows-Sand and Smoke Pictures. Well known. The act remains the same as presented before. They received several small laughs. Alright for an early place in the three-show section. 14 min. full stage - LYDIA HALL: Young girl. Vocalist. Rather rough. No voice. Fair personality. Does a few steps in dancing which don't amount to anything. Presume she would pass as an opener. Not strong enough for this place. 9 min. in one- 3 shows. THE VALDINGS: 2 men. Trapeze Artists: Some of the work is good, although slow. Received some scattered applause and are alright for an early place on the bill. 10 min. full stage- 3 shows. LAMBERT & PIERCE: 2 men. Blackface Talking, Singing and Dancing. Talking don't amount to anything. The Singing just about passes. The Dancing is their strong-hold. They just about got by in this place. 12 min. St. in one-3 O. K. S A T O : First appearance in years: Had nothing new in the way of material. Only change is the make-up. Getting entirely too much money. 15 min. - full stage- close in one about 4 minutes-- 2 shows WALTER DANIELS: Impersonator: All of his work was strongly applauded. Held this spot down in great shape. Closed with a very strong applause. Excellent three-show act. 16 min. in one- STALEY & BIRRECK: Transformation Act: Well known. Received the biggest applause for the changes up to this time. Compelled to make three bows on thier finish. 9 min.-full stage- BERTINA & BROCKWAY: 2 Young ladies: Singers and Dancers: Well known for contortion work although a bit awkward.
