GRAND OPERA HOUSE OCTOBER 22d, 1905. PITTSBURG, PA. W. E. WHITTLE-20 minutes, interior, two, closing 8 minutes in one. This act does very well in the three a day section. THE GRESSONS-3 shows. Olio in one. 12 minutes. Singing and dancing. Neither one can sing or dance. Both neat dressers. CRAWFORD & GASTON-Piano playing, singing and some talking. 18 minutes full stage. The act is not a good one. The piano playing of Mr. Crawford is very good. The balance of the act was bad. The work of Mr. Gaston is the worst I ever saw and I have never seen any one on the stage who acted as much like an amateur. He wore his street clothes on the stage which, by the way, were not good. I feel sure that if Mr. Crawford had a partner who could do something he would be able to put a good act together but as the act stands now, I would not care to recommend it to any one at any figure. BELLE HATHAWAY'S BABOONS AND MONKEYS- Palace 13 minutes. This act went very well with our patrons. While not a great act, it creates lots of laughter and pleases very much. I feel sure it would more than make good on any bill. LEONA THURBER AND HER PICKANINNIES-in one, 10 minutes. Miss Thurber carries four pickaninnies. The picks are just good enough to please.. Miss Thurber is undoubtedly the worst I have ever heard. The picks get a little applause. Would not care to play the act again. CHASSINO-Interior, three. 13 minutes, closing in one 3 minutes. This man is undoubtedly the best of his kind in the business. This is his second appearance here and he went fully as strong as on his first visit. He does a whistling act for us in one which lasted about 3 minutes and went very big. FOUR DANCING FORDS-15 minutes, full stage. Brothers and sisters. This act went stronger than any dancing act we have ever played. There is no doubt but what this is the greatest dancing act in the business. The act is dressed very neat and they work very hard. I wish we had more acts in vaudeville as good as Fords. ELMER TENLEY-Monologue in one-18 minutes. Mr. Tenley went very big with us. I consider him among the best monologue acts in the business. WILFRED CLARKE AND COMPANY-"No More Trouble". 17 minutes, full stage. I cannot say that I like this act as there is very little to it. It seems to please some of our patrons but it is not an act I would care to repeat. ITALIAN TRIO-13 minutes in one. This is a very good singing act and are going very well with us, being compelled to sing four songs at every performance. JUGGLING MCBANS-5 minutes, full stage, wood. This is one of the best club juggling acts in the business and went very big with us, closing the show. GUERTIN-Jumper-12 minutes, 3 shows. Garden, full stage. This is a very good act of the kind and does very well for the three a day section. JOHN P. HARRIS
