Cleveland Show, Nov. 6th, '05. (H. A. Daniels) KENYON & DE GARMO--Man and swoman offering a sort of pearch act with the girl doing the aerial work. Quite a good little act for an opener. Received some applause. Landscape in 3. 10 min. NOTE--As I have remarked before there were 160 people in the last four rows that could not see any of the work of the young lady owing to the faulty construction of the house. This should be borne in mind in the booking of the aerial acts. MINNIE HARRISON--Vocalist billed as a singing comedienne. The young lady possesses a very deep voice. neatly gowned and has quite a winning way, but did not seem to make a great impression on the audience this afternoon although I can see no reason why she should not go well. However, the applause was lacking and the majority of the audience were reading their programs. A good act for the money, but evidently not strong enough for this position in this house. She worked hard and deserved applause. Drapery in one. 12 minutes. DE WITT, BURNS & TORRANCE--Two men and a woman in a sketch entitled "The Awakening of Toys". An acrobatic comedy sketch well known on the circuit. a good act for the children. The act has improved since I last saw it. Work seemed finished and received frequent applause. Very good act for this house. Special drapery in 3. 1 minutes. BILLY LINK--Black face cut up. Songs and stories. Cut out, Danm Fool. A lot of his stuff was on the dead line and all most off color. However, he went well and got the laughs. Cut out song about man under the bed in the old maids' bed room. 9 minutes in one. MR. & MRS GARDNER CRANE--And a company of three in a sketch entitled "A Yankee's Love for Dixie". The best thing I have ever seen Crane do. Sketch held the intense interest of the audience. does not use an American flag or the star spangled banner to get applause. It is an excellent little patriotic sketch that gains deserved applause. Very good act. C. D. F. in 4. 23 minutes. ELINORE SISTERS--Billed as comediennes. One working straight and the other grotesque. The one working straight can not sing. She tries, but that is as near as she gets. Girl doing the comedy carries the act. She received the laughs and they were frequent and hearty. Act ended much better than it started. Drapery in one. 20 minutes. NOTE--The Elinore Sisters, one of the young ladies says she is sick. She went to see a physician after the afternoon show and thinks that she will not be able to work the rest of the week. MILITARY OCTETTE--Lasky & Rolfe's Military Octette and The Girl with the Baton. Eight men, two women and the girl with the baton. A musical act with special scenery and costumes. Quite a clever conceit well carried out. Music good, singing, good, costumes good. 27 m BERZAC'S CIRCUS--Small ponies working in a circus ring with the unridable donkey that kicks. The donkey caused more laughter and applause than I have ever heard in this house. Wood in 5. 12 Min. KINETOGRAPH--The funny shave, fair comedy; Nautical fancy, ordinary; The phantom guard, good trick; The hair dresser's victim, bad; the vendetta, good chase picture.
