Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I.; Week of November, 18, 1905. (Charles Lovenberg, Manager.) The bill is eminently satisfactory. Every act is all right excepting two; one of those is not bad but disappointing. Shephard & Ward. Comedy talking and singing acct, in one. This is the only poor thing on the bill. 13 min., 3 shows. The Maginleys. Well known trapeze act which has been played for us too many times to require comment. 12 min. full stage 2 shows. Dudley & Cheslyn. Fairly good singing act with a little comedy talking by the woman. With some good material they might some day get out of the three a day class but they seem to be in a rut. 11 min. in one, 3 shows. Durbyelle Sisters. Shadowgraphists. Very pleasing turn as good as any of those that we play other than Chassino and better than the Darrows. Lots of applause all through. 14 min. in 3, 3 shows. Leila Taylor. Singing comedienne. This girl, with proper training, and a little more experience should do first rate in the three a day class. She is all right to play in the very early section at the salary she is booked. 11 min. in one, 3 shows. Le Page. Jumping act introducing also high-kicking and pole volting. A number of novelties introduced in this and a special stage setting adds to its effectiveness. Exceptionally good three a day turn . 12 min. full stage, 3 shows. Harper, Desmond & Bailey. Among the best colored teams that we play. They have added a little new stuff in their act which went very strongly. 18 min. in 1, 3 shows. J. K. Murray & Clara Lane. These people went only fairly in their straight singing work but finished very strong with their operatic duo. I have an idea they will draw money though, judging from the advanced applause received. 20 min. open full stage, about 3 min. in 1, 2 shows. 8 Allisons. In many respects the bst acrobatic act I ever saw, introducing a number of new tricks. They work with rapidity and ease and sureness. Went splendidly. 13 min. full stage, 2 shows. Alf Grant. Assisted by Ethel Hoag. This was one of the surprises of the show. To say that he made a hit would only be putting it mildly. The act is decidedly better than many of the much higher priced monologue acts we play. Held the stage down strongly for 24 min. in one, 2 shows. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Truesdell. In "Aunt Louisa's Advice." This act didn't seem to meet with the favor it did last year. It opened very mildly but went pretty well at the end. It is a good act but I think we have had it sufficiently. 22 min. full stage, 2 shows. May Belfort. This girl is an artiste to her finger tips and her work was thoroughly appreciated. 18 min. in 1, 2 shows Fitzgibbon, Morse & Brislane. In the toughest sort of a spot this act made a big hit due entirely to Bert Fitzgibbon's foolishness. The audience were very loathe to let them go. 15 min. in 3, doing a short close in 1, which was not very good, 2 shows.
