New York Criticism---Nov. 13th, 1905. -----oooooo-------- SHUNGOPAVI: The Moki Indian. Monologue and Magic. His talk on the opening is rather long and tiresome, although kept the attention of the audience throughout. Finished quite strong. 18 min. in two-3 shows ALTHEA TWINS: Acrobatic Singing and Dancing. Very neat. Pleasing little three show act. Alright for an erly place. 7 min. in two- 3 shows HAPPY JACK LYLE: Parodies. This man's material is rather suggestive. Monologue does not amount to anything. Received some light applause for his parodies. 15 min. in one-- 2 shows CHERRY & BATES: Cyclists: The trick work was reatly appreciated. An excellent three-show act. 19 min.-full stage- 3 LES AUBERTS: Man and woman. Parisian Dancers. First American Appearance. Act is on the style of the De Forrest's but not as good or sensational. Merely a pleasing little dancing number,-rather short-runs 8 min. Received some applause on the finish.-full stage-2 THOMAS & PAYNE: Man and woman. "Coon" Singers and Dancers. Little slow in getting them to-day. Woman does not amount to much. Man carried the act off strong on his dancing, which won a big lot of applause. 15 min. in one- 3 shows PANTZER TRIO: Contortionists: Went fully as strong as before. Pantzer received quite a number of laughs on the grotesque comedian. The women were recognized for their contortion work. 13 min.-full stage- 2 shows R. . JOSS. : Reported sick. FIVE MOWATTS: Club Jugglers. Biggest applause hit of the show up to this point. 10 min. - full stage- 2 shows LOUISE DRESSER: Singing Comedienne. This young lady gave us one of the best selection of songs we ever had. They all went with a roar and she certainly held her own in this place in great shape. 13 min. -drapery in one- 2 "Reception of Prince Louis Battenburg." Quite interesting, especially at this season. Good photographically. "Keep it straight." Very good comedy.
