PHILADELPHIA SHOW. NOV. 27TH, 1905. 95. H. T. JORDAN. REEVES & QUINN-3-Songs and dances. Two men, Englishmen apparently, from their dialect. Singing very ordinary, dancing a little better, but not of that quality that appeals to our audience. Just got by opening the show. 13 mins. St. in 1. LEILA TAYLOR-3-Singing comedienne. While this young lady is not of a displeasing appearance, and dresses well, she is not a good singer, and made such a weak impression to-day, that she did three songs without any hand. 10 mins. Olio in 1. BROS. DURANT-3-This act was criticized in detail in New York last week. The novelty of the opening wins the attention of the audience, and the acrobatic work holds it. May be rated a good act for the early bill, and won quite a number of laughs, and some applause. 17 mins. Spec. 2 Dark change to Gar. in 4. YORK COMEDY 4-3-Four men, one working straight, the other three eccentric. Fair singers, and the comedy introduced is only ordinary, but they proved to arouse the audience in a way, and at the price may be considered a fair act. 18 mins. St. in 1. ROSAIR & DOETO-2-Second week for these people. Went fully as strong as last week, due largely, I think to the fact that they are on early with practically no comedy ahead of them. 12 mins. Spec. in 4. MUSICAL JOHNSTONS-2- Xylophone artists. Two men and a woman, neatly costumed. All good performers, and a well chosen programme. Pleased. Good act. 13 mins. Drap. in 1. THESPIAN CLUB-2-A dramatic society from the University of Pennsylvania in a Shakespearean sketch entitled, "The Conspirators." The men are very good for amateurs, but at the last moment the lady who rehearsed first was taken sick, and her understudy played the part. She was very bad indeed, and her work turned the sketch that would have been a success into one that hardly more than pleased. On account of their local following, will keep them in the show, but earlier on the bill. 21 mins. Spec. BURRIS & MORGAN-3-colored song and dance. Two men. For an early place this is quite a lively act, but on at 3 o'clock it failed to accomplish much. 14 mins. St. in 1. MR. & MRS. GARDNER CRANE & CO.-2- In Crane's new sketch entitled," A Yankee's Love for Dixey." This act has been described in detail over the circuit. While it does not contain as many laughs as Crane's former it pleases our audience fully as well, and had no trouble in making thoroughly good. 20 mins. Cak in 3 Green Garland in 2. CABARET'S PERFORMING DOGS.-2-While this act introduced nothing new or novel in the way of animal training, it comprises some very good somer set dogs, and introduces a toy ferris wheel, and a merry-go-round, which makes it very interesting for the chidren. It is too short, however, to be of any real value for the money. 12 mins. Gar. in 4. COMMENT-2- The show this week is hardly up to the standard, and failed to please to-days audience, being more severely criticized than any show that we have had for some time. Much of this is due I think, to the fact that there is too much black in the show, as we have a colored team, two black face acts, and there is also a black face makeup in the Agoust Family. It is unfortunate that the show does not turn out better this week as the legimate house have the best attractions of the year. Among which are "The College Widow." Fields in "It Happened in Nordland." John Drew, Edna May, and Mrs. Josie Carter.
