97 (F. J. O'Connor) Boston Show Week of Nov. 27, 1905 Stereopticon, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Usual selection of interesting home and foreign views. John Daly and Annie Devers, 3 shows, 16 min. in 2--In the farcical sketch, "Bridget's Word Goes". Got a few laughs and although they are old-timers here, they are all right for openers. Joe Edmonds, 3 shows, 13 min. in 1--Comedian and singer. Bad, even for this spot in the bill. Will move him down after the Kinetograph. Sid Baxter, 3 shows, 10 min. full stage--Black wire artist, juggler and aerial cyclist. All of his work was thoroughly appreciated today and he got an excellent hand at the finish. La Petite Mignon, 2 shows, 12 min. in 1--Clever juvenile impersonator. Well-known on the circuit. She has a lively dash about her that got our audience at the outset today and all her impersonations were strongly applauded. Responded to three recalls. Les Auberts, 2 shows, 8 min. full stage--Parisian acrobatic dancers. Scored a big hit in this spot today and could be moved down a couple of pegs. Nat Le Roy and Minnie Woodford, 2 shows, 16 min. in 1--Conversational comedians. Well-known on the circuit. Provoked laughter throughout and got a good hand at the finish. (Beginning to think by the way everything is going that we have an enthusiastic holiday audience). Asra, 2 shows, 16 min. full stage--Expert billiardist and juggler. Although he missed some of his tricks today, he offered quite a novelty and went very well in this spot. Closed strong. Burke and Dempsey, 2 shows, 16 min. in 1--Conversational comedians and parody singers. Their talk is only fair, but their parodies went all right with our audience today. Nevertheless, I will shift them around with LeRoy and Woodford. Edward Mollenhauer, 2 shows, 21, min. open in 2, close in 1. This man got a big advance reception showing that our newspaper advertising had reached them in excellent shape. He played three selections and an encore in 1, every selection went tremendously strong and he was forced to come before the curtain to bow repeated acknowledgments. Will keep him down to two selections and an encore for tonight and the balance of the week. Berte Coote and Company, 2 shows, 24 min. full stage--In the comedy sketch, "A Lamb in Wall Street". Got quite an advance reception and the sketch was laughed at and applauded throughout. Coote is quite a favorite here and his exceptionally clever work was thoroughly appreciated. of the show today because the audience was exceptionally enthusiastic, practically everything going big. The program worked out in good shape and I think it will prove a good one for the holiday week. We had a capacity audience, although it was no doubt made up of many out-of-towners.
