R. J. Jose, 2 shows, 12 min. in 1--Always popular ballad singer in Boston. Got his usual big advance hand and all of his selections were strongly encored, especially "Belle Brandon". Went just as big as on any former trip. Spissell Brothers and Mack, 2 shows, 13 min. in 3--Comedy acrobats, two in eccentric makeup and one working straight. Although we had these people last August, they nevertheless went with laughter and applause throughout, and as every preceding act, got a big hand at the close. Josephine Gassman and Picks, 2 shows, 16 min. open in 1, goes to 3, closes in 1--Owing to a little overanxiety in regard to the law Miss Gas sman's act was not as lively this afternoon as it might be but I think it will be improved in that respect tonight. Belle Hathaway's Monkeys and Baboons, 2 shows, 14 min. full stage--They went quite well for a show that ran over close to 15 minutes this afternoon, and we will keep it in this place and endeavor to gather the children in during the coming holidays. Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following list of interesting motion pictures: 1. The Pastry Cook's Joke, Good comedy film. 2. Pussy's Breakfast. Appealed especially to women and children, but nevertheless a good film. 3. Different Hair Dresses. This is quite a good colored picture. 4. At the Zoo. Good film. 5. Where is My Horse? Fair comedy picture. Improvement over last week. Bertina and Brockway, 3 shows, 11 min. full stage--Pleasing singers and dancers. Very poor spot on the bill. These people went quite well and I will shift them to the spot occupied by Joe Edmonds. of the show today because the audience was exceptionally enthusiastic, practically everything going big. The program worked out in good shape and I think it will prove a good one for the holiday week. We had a capacity audience, although it was no doubt made up of many out-of-towners.
