102 New York Criticism--Nov. 20th, 1905. The show is well balanced, -full of comedy, and one of the best we had here for many weeks. Not a bad act on the bill. REEVES & QUINN. 2 men. Vocalists and Dancers. Singing is bad, but they do very little of it, therefore, it will not do much harm. Their clog-dancing is alright, although over-done. After the act is put on shape, it will be alright for an early place. 15 min. in one- 3 shows NAOMI ETHARDO: Equilibrist. Little scattered applause throughout Always goes well here. 8 min.-full stage- 3 shows LEO CARRILLO: Mimic. This man makes a very nice appearance, and with a pleasing manner, gets his audience on the start-off. His Chinese stories and impersonations were very well received. Some of his mimic work is old, although he being a new face, passed in great shape. Very acceptable for three-show section and fully capable of going down further in the bill. 14 min. in one- 3 shows THE CHAMBERLINS: Man and woman. Rope manipulators and Lasso Experts. Quite novel. All their work was applauded. Received a big hand on the finish. 9 min.-full stage- 3 shows HARPER, DESMOND & BAILEY: Biggest applause up to this time. Personally, I think one of the best coon acts we play. Responded to three bows. 19 min. in one- 2 shows AGUSTA GLOSE': Musical Pianologue: Got the audience on the start-off with her piano work. Imitation of the child went very strong. Lost them on the "Four Ages" song. Closed strong with her character impersonation. This woman is greatly overpaid. Think $125.00 is about enough. (Closed in one about 5 minutes) drapery in two- 16 min.-- 2 shows BROS. DURANT: Acrobatic novelty: First American appearance; Open in two in an airship. They carry their own drop, representing tops of houses. One works straight while the other impersonates a clown. Received quite a number of laughs for the comedy while in the airship. They change to full stage, showing a single trapeze on which one of the brothers does some good gymnastic work. The act is nothing sensational, but they are foreigners, the opening is novel, therefore, it is a mighty valuable three-show act and alright for an early place and for re-booking. 19 min. - full stage- 3 shows. KINETOGRAPH: "The Hoodoo Automobile." Good comedy. "The Great Foot Ball Game." Good photographically, especially at this season of the year.
