108 Cleveland Show, Nov. 27, 05. (H. A. Daniels) DAISY HARCOURT--Singing comedienne. Singing, dancing and impersonations. Too good an act for this spot but it was really the only thing I had to open the show with. Went very well indeed. Drop in one. 14 minutes. JOE REICHEN'S TRAINED DOGS--Has been over the circuit and the act is well known. It is a most unusual animal act in that the dogs do equilibristic work entirely. Received frequent applause this afternoon. Very good act. Full stage. 11 minutes. KELLY & VIOLETTE--Straight singing act. Too well known for comment. Should not have been placed on the same bill with the village choir, but there was no help for it. An excellent vocal offering that always goes well. Drop in one. 12 minutes. S. MILLER KENT--Assisted by one man. Comedy sketch entitled "Just Dorothy". There is mighty little comedy in it. The sketch is really a monologue and mostly descriptive monologue at that. It is serious in spots, intensely serious. Received a little applause at the close. C. D. F. in 3. 17 minutes. VILLAGE CHOIR--Well known on the circuit. Straight vocal act. We have so much singing on the bill this week that they did not go as well as I have seen them go at other times. Received a little applause, but did not do nearly as well as they should. Drop in one. 15 minutes. HOUDINI-Too well known for comment. It is not an act that calls for a great deal of applause though the audience may be intensely interested through the entire performance. Works C. D. F. in 3. 21 minutes. COOPER & ROBINSON--Two men. Colored team. More singing. However, they get the only laugh there was in the show. There was only one laugh on the bill and the colored comedian got it. Good act. Drop in one. 13 minutes. SIX GLINCERETTIS--Acrobats using a bounding net. Probably one of the best acrobatic acts in vaudeville. Palace in 3. 10 min. KINETOGRAPH--A Funny Shave, Old: The Sedan Chair, Magic, Good; The Czar and the Imperial Family, Good: Down on the Farm, Running Picture. COMMENT--Show drags. The comedy is lacking and the singing is greatly overdone. It is not a smooth running show or a lively one. Houdini will draw to some extent, but we have another handcuff king in opposition. One burlesque house has Battling Nelson and the other one Jimmy Britt. Klaw & Erlanger have put in Fritzi Sheff against Belasco's, "The Darling of the Gods". I doubt if Houdini will be strong enough to offset all this opposition.
