114 GRAND OPERA HOUSE PITTSBURG, PA. NOV. 27th, 05. NETTIE CARROLL-3 shows-Garden, Time of act 8 minutes. This is a neat little wire act which I think good enough for any bill at 8:00 or 8:15. LOUIS GRANAT-Time of act 10 minutes. Olio in one. Whistling specialty. 3 shows. Mr. Granat is going very well with us-much better than the average three a day act. AMETA-Special set. Tme of act 10 minutes, full stage. Mirror dance. This lady carries eight mirrors and her act is similar to Papinta but, of course, not so good. However, she does very well considering the difference in the salary. AVON COMEDY FOUR-Kitchen in 3, closing in one 4 minutes-total time of act 19 minutes. This is a singing and talking act introducing a school room scene which is very rough but goes very big. I think the act could be improved if they would cut out some of the talking. MAUDE WHITE & STEPHEN GRATTAN-Special drop in three in "Locked out at 3:00 A.M. Time of act 19 minutes. This I consider a very good sketch and while Maude White and Stephen Grattan get away with it, I think more clever people would get more out of the act. MADAME SLAPOFFSKI-10 minutes-Olio in one. Operatic singing. Miss Slapoffski is just getting away this week. She is not singing nearly as well and her appearance is very bad. I would not care to play her again. BORANI & NEVARO-12 minutes in 3. Interior. Comedy acrobatic act. This act is going very, very good with us. I suggested to Mr. Borani that he cut some of the talking, which he did, and which, I think, improved the act vert much. He is getting as much applause as any act on the bill. TAYLOR HOLMES-14 minutes in one in imitations of Richard Mansfield, Geo. Cohan, Yon Yonson and Sam Bernard. Mr. Holmes is doing very well for us. We consider his imitations all good with the exception of Geo. Cohan. CRESSY & DAYNE-28 minutes, full stage-special set. "Town Hall Tonight". I thinj this is one of Mr. Cressy's best offerings and keeps them laughing from the opening until the close, especially during the musical part of the act which is very, very fine. SYDNEY DEANE & CO in "Christmas on Blackwell's Island". 19 minutes, special drop in one with backing in two. This act is too well known to need criticism. They are going fully as strong with us this week as they have during their previous engagements. ROSE WENTWORTH & HORSES-introducing two horses and three people 10 minutes, full stage. This act Monday and Tuesday was not as good as one of the members of the company had never seen the act before Monday, but the act is going very well now and I feel sure that in a week or so, with the new man, the act will be better than ever. ETHARDO-3 shows-wood in 2. Time of act 10 minutes. Equilibrist. This is a very good act for the three a day section. MORTON, TEMPLE & MORTON-Singing, dancing and talking. 18 minutes, full stage, wood. Close in one. I may have seen worse but I don't remember it. John P. Harris.
