GRAND OPERA HOUSE PITTSBURG, PA. NOV. 20th, 05. GARNELL & HARRIS-3 shows-15 minutes. Comedy acrobatic act. Does very well for the three a day section. MATTIE LOCKETTE-Time of act 10 minutes. Child impersonator. 3 shows. This act is very much better than the general run of three a day acts. CHINCO-Comedy juggler, assisted by a young man who dresses as a girl. 12 minutes, full stage. This man attempted some wonderful tricks in juggling and was sometimes successful. He undoubtedly is the worst act that we have ever played, not being able to half of that which he attempts. We were compelled to move him three times on the bill. When we talked with him about his act the only thing we could get from him was-"I will be all right in five or six days." I hope he is all right but we could not keep him long enough to find out. MACK & LEONARD-11 minutes in one. This is a very good dancing act. One of the members of the team is Eddy Mack who played over the circuit some time ago and did very good. His partner, Mr. Leonard, is equally as good a dancer. They went very big with us. HOWARD & BLAND-28 minutes, interior, in "A Strange Boy". Repeated their former success in this act but have one of the worst acts of its kind I have ever seen in "The Stage Manager", which we were compelled to take off after Monday. WORLD'S COMEDY FOUR-Singing and talking act. 14 minutes in one. This is not one of the best comedy fours in the business. It just about gets away. RYAN & RICHFIELD-Kitchen in three. 25 minutes in Mike Haggerty's Daughter." This act causes roars of laughter from the start till the finish. I think it one of the best laugh getting sketches in vaudeville. MADAME MANTELLI-Operatic selections. 10 minutes, olio in one. If Miss Mantelli would dress differently I am sure it would help her considerable. However, she goes very well but I do not consider that she draws us any money. JOE REICHEN'S DOGS-12 minutes, full stage-wood (Can work in two). Introducing 4 dogs. This is undoubtedly one of the best dog acts in the business, being entirely away from all others. During the entire week I don't think the dogs missed one trick JIM MORTON-Monologue in one. 14 minutes. With the same old stories and the same old success. Kept the audience in roars during the entire time of his act. FLORENZE FAMILY-12 acrobats in evening dress. 14 minutes, full stage. This is not a great act.It looks well and pleases, but not for the money they get. I think the act would be much better with fewer people and a whole lot less money. JOE EDMONDS-Alleged monologue. Never before, anywhere, have I seen anything quite as bad. The proper thing to do with acts of this kind would be to cancel them after their first show. I think in this way we might rid ourselves of some very, very bad three a day material. John P. Harris.
