New York Criticism--Dec.11th, 1905. 120 TOTO: Musical Mystery. Second week. No applause on the finish of the act. They would not have it. 9 min. in two- 2 shows. THREE MADCAPS: 2 women. Acrobatic Dancers. Well known. Some little scattered applause throughout. A pleasing three show act. 11 min.- full stage- 3 shows. HARRY PILCER: Character Vocalist. Young man. Pleasing personality with a very peculiar voice although acceptable. Given an imitation of Geo. M. Cohan which is fairly good and with his dancing, which is excellent, makes the act alright for an early place on the bill. 10 min. in one- 3 shows IMPERIAL JAP. TROUPE: Not as strong as some of the other Japanese acts we play. They secured some scattered applause for the work. Act is alright at the price on account of the time and the three shows. 21 min.-full stage - 3 McKISSICK & SHADNEY: Colored man and woman. Singing and dancing. Singing does not amount to much. Dancing is alright which just about lets them out as an opening act. 10 min. in one- 3 shows MULLEN & CORELLI: 2 men. Acrobatic comedy. First time here. One works straight while the other is eccentric . First act on the bill which made the audience sit up and take notice. All their acrobatic work is new and good and was greatly appreciated. Their comedy is excellent. Act is quick and full of life. They close the act tumblng through a trick-piano which they carry, making a strong finish. 11 min. -full stage-2 EDWARD MOLLENHAUER: Violinist. Received some advance applause. All of his numbers were appreciated and strongly applauded, and I presume a little bit of the enthusiasm was through sympathy. A mighty clever musician. 17 min. in two-can close in one- 2 shows. PAUL BARNES: Monologue and Songs. This man has a big lot of new material. With the cream spot on the bill, he couldn't go otherwise, but make a hit. His parodies went exceptionally strong. 16 min. in one- 2 shows I think this woman gave us the best act we ever had. She carries two drops to represent Japanese and Indian Village scenes. The "Picks" make four changes. The singing is excellent and they close with a good lively dance, making a very strong finish. Was applauded throughout. 12 min. in one- 2 shows PARROS BROTHERS: Eccentric Hand-to-hand Acrobats and Equilibrists: Acrobatic work is excellent. Balancing is very good and recognized the equal of any that we ever had. Finished very strong. A good closing act. 14 min. full stage KINETOGRAPH: "A Christmas Miracle." Good "The Train Wreckers." Intensely interesting throughout. Excellent subject.
