123 Cleveland Show December 11th. (H. A. Daniels) MAREENA, NEVARO & MAREENA--Three men, two working straight, one as a comedian.Straight men do head and hand balancing, the comedian does contortion work. Many of their stunts were applauded. a good act for an opener, probably the best we hae had in several weeks. Palace in 5. 7 minutes. THE HOLDSWORTHS--Man and woman. Banjo playing, singing and dancing. A neatly dressed, pleasing little act that created no great excitement, but serves to fill in the time acceptably. All right for this position. Drop in one. 16 minutes. ASRA--European expert billiardist introducing novelty feats on the billiard table. The novelty of the thing appealed to the audience. A very good sight act that went with frequent and hearty applause. Good act for this house. Palace in 5. 11 min. MME. SLAPOFFSKI--English prima donna soprano. Well known on the circuit. Played here last year. She carries her husband with her now and he leads the orchestra. Went as well as acts of this kind go and, while not a terrific hit, she managed to gain some applause. Was in better voice than I have ever seen her before. Drop in one. 12 minutes. FRANK GARDNER & LOTTIE VINCENT--Assisted by two men. Sketch entitled, "Winning a Queen". Quite a novelty in its way. Has been fully described in the Philadelphia criticism. Went very well here today and received considerable applause on the finish. Special scenery, full stage. 20 minutes. CLIFTON CRAWFORD--Billed as a monologue. Entertains with original stories. His act proved a very agreeable surprise. He can be classed with any good monologue artist. I would consider him better than Ed. Stevens in Ed. Stevens own line of work. The man is a thorough artist, clever, with presence, magnetism and grace. Exceptionally good act. Drop in one. 20 minutes. STALEY & BIRBECK--Presenting their well known transformation scene. It has played here a number of times as it has every house on the circuit. Nothing has been changed. We had them in a very stiff spot and I do not know how the papers will look at it. I would not want to play them again next season for I can not afford this much money for 8 minutes entertainment. Received very little applause. Special set, full stage. 8 minutes. W. H. MURPHY & BLANCHE NICHOLS--Presenting their sketch, "From 'Zaza' to 'Uncle Tom' ". Was seen in this house last season. Well known in every house on the circuit. It closed the show today and held down this spot very nicely. Was geeted with laughter and applauded throughout. Full stage. 33 Min. KINETOGRAPH--The SErvant Girl Problem Good The Moon's Bride Good
