126 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, DEC. 11TH 1905. H. T. JORDAN. THE MUSICAL BATCHELORS-3-This is a local act booked to open the show, consisting of a man and a boy working as rubes, assisted by two pigs. Do the simple, regulation stunts, and make a very acceptable opener. JACK LYLE-3-Comedian. This man who works in an eccentric makeup, is a pretty good singer, and has some fairly bright talk. Went well to-day, and may be classed as all right for the early bill. 15 mins. St. in 1. THE AHERNS-3-Man and woman in a bycycle and unicycle act, man working as a tramp. Had no trouble in keeping the audience interested, and some of the work on the unicycle was really very good, bringing the act to a strong close. Good three a day act. 15 mins. Rd. Lans. in 4. BABY JEANETTE FLEISIG-3-Mimic. This youngster has a good personality, and about the best singing voice I ever heard for a child of her years. Her work is really very clever, and she scored something of a hit to-day. Mighty good three a day act. 12 mins. Olio in 1. NORCROSS, BLAIN & LEMAR-3-These people give us a Minstrel Showof the Vintage of 69, introducing solo work, chorus work, dancing, and repartee They certainly pleased, and the old songs were all rewarded with liberal applause. Good act. 15 mins. Olio in 1. Spec. 1 1/2 THE WELSON TROUPE-2-European rope performers. Four well developed, athletic looking men in new and novel feats on ropes instead of flying rings. Well known over the circuit. On at 2.30 this afternoon, they made a most profound impression, in fact going 100 per-cent better than when playung here at any time before, the applause being practically continuous. 13 mins. House Gar. in 4. NICHOLS SISTERS-Darkey imitators. With new material, and new songs, these young ladies gave us a better act than ever before, and scored strongly. As the act is now practically a new one, would welcome it for a return in the spring, as it is very valuable being entirely in one. 12 mins. Plantation in 1. HARRY LECLAIR-2-LeClair gave us his new act to-day. He opens in a palace and gives a burlesque on Cleopatra, introducing two songs. The costume that he wears is certainly magnificent. He then does an old Irish woman, and closes with a Shakespearean makeup with song. The act is too long, otherwise it is thoroughly all right and went well to-day. HOWARD'S COMEDY DOGS & PONIES-This is one of the best pony acts we play, being especially pleasing to the children. All right for a closing act. 20 mins. Spec. Cyclorama in 4. KINETOGRAPH:- 1. PHOEBE SNOW. This is a scenic picture showing views along the Delaware & Lackawanna Railroad. I tried to avoid running it however, as it is simply a paid for ad. for the above named railroad, but the film they sent me to replace it was one I would not insult an audience by showing it to them. 2. EVERYBODY WORKS BUT FATHER. Fair comedy picture. 3. THE BARNSTORMERS. Showing the trials and tribulations of an Uncle Tom Company. Pretty far fetched, but still gets the laughs, the audience accepting as a burlesque.
