PHILADELPHIA SHOW, DEC. 11TH, 1905. -2- H. T. JORDAN. PICCOLO MIDGETS-2-In the same act that they have always given us, and which is well known over the circuit. Had no trouble in holding their place down on the bill, and pleased thoroughly. 15 mins. St. in 1. Gar. in 3. TAYLOR HOLMES-2-Monologue, and impersonations. This man has improved his act somewhat, from a vaudeville standpoint since last here, and on at 3.30 and a strong show, had no trouble in making good. 15 mins. Olio in 1. VALERIE BERGERE & CO in the one act drama Carmen. This is taken from the opera Carmen. It has a strong story well told, and leads up to a tragical climax, the curtain going down on the death of Carmen who has been stabbed by her lover. Miss Bergere's work is exceptionally good, and no fault can be found with the supporting company. Miss Bergere who was a strong local favorite, was warmly received on her entrance, and was accorded three curtain calls on her finish. 28 mins. Spec. Drop in 5. CLIFFORD & BURKE-2-Eccentric comedians. Act well known on circuit. One of the sure fire hits for the last act in one in a bill. Their work is full of action, and as a burnt cork comedian, Burke is hard to beat. Won out in great shape to-day. 15 mins. St. in 1. HOWARD'S COMEDY DOGS & PONIES-This is one of the best pony acts we play, being especially pleasing to the children. All right for a closing act. 20 mins. Spec. Cyclorama in 4. KINETOGRAPH:- 1. PHOEBE SNOW. This is a scenic picture showing views along the Delaware & Lackawanna Railroad. I tried to avoid running it however, as it is simply a paid for ad. for the above named railroad, but the film they sent me to replace it was one I would not insult an audience by showing it to them. 2. EVERYBODY WORKS BUT FATHER. Fair comedy picture. 3. THE BARNSTORMERS. Showing the trials and tribulations of an Uncle Tom Company. Pretty far fetched, but still gets the laughs, the audience accepting as a burlesque.
