New York Criticism---Jan. 1st, 1906. THE DELMARS: Barrel Jumpers. 2 men. One working straight, the other eccentric. Comedy is old, but gets some laughs. Trick work thoroughly alright. A good opening act. 12 min.-full stage- 3 shows LILLIAN LeROY: Vocaliste. Good voice. Pleasing selections. Splendid vocal act. 11 min. in one- 3 shows WHITMAN & DAVIS: Man and woman. Character comedy sketch. Whitman impersonates an Italian, Irishman and German. He does them all fairly well. Woman's voice is alright. Sketch contains a little comedy. Received good applause on the finish. Alright for an early place. 16 min.-full stage- 3 shows LUIGI DELL'ORO: Musician. Well known over the circuit. His selections were up-to-date, therefore, received the biggest applause up to this time. 12 min. in one-2 JOHNSON & WELLS: Colored man and woman. Pleasing voices. Nicely costumed. Woman went very strong on account of singing "Sympathy". The man is quite a clever dancer and received a big lot applause for his work. Fully capable of going down further in the bill. 12 min. in one- 3 shows ALFRED ARNESEN: European Equilibrist. Does a lot of very good equilibristic work. Model after many European performers. Closed with a one-hand balancing act on a stick placed on a tight wire, which called forth a big lot of applause. The only objection is the time of the act,-at this salary seems exhorbitant. 7 min. full stage- 2 shows TYCE & JERMON: 2 young ladies. Presenting an act similar to that of Melville & Stetson. One does the straight, while the other impersonates an Irish comedienne. The act is thoroughly alright, contains many bright lines and they managed to secure a lot of laughs. Their voices are excellent and they are fully capable to hold most any position on the program. 19 min. in one- 2 GUYER & O'NEILL: Presenting their acrobatic comedy sketch:-"Watch the Finish." Second time this season. They secured a good number of laughs throughout, scoring big on their tough dance at the finish, thereby securing two curtain calls. Cut out:) "Go to Hell." 25 min. full stage- 2 shows JULIAN ELTINGE: Female impersonater. Had them guessing for a while. His act remains the same as when last presented, all of his work going very strong. 10 min. (Open in one close full stage)- 2 shows OTTO BROS.: German Comedians. Rather disappointed in this act. The first song did not receive any applause. Their talking does not amount to anything. The strongest part os the operatic singing and dancing. Not strong enough for this place. 15 min. in one-2 shows SPISSELL BROS. & MACK: Acrobatic comedy. Full of life. Good comedy. Excellent closing act. 14 min.-full stage- 2 shows KINETOGRAPH: "Misadventures of a Hat." Good comedy. "The Tramp." Rather sacreligious. Will take off. "The Life of a Newsboy." Very good.
