NICK LONG AND IDALENE COTTON.--A falling off from a magnificent show up to this point. "Managerial Troubles" needs pruning, particularly in the Leah KLeshna imitation, which is not all that it is cracked up to be, showing very little of the Fiske intelligence, and displaying none of her magnetism. The Parisian dancer was far better, and received good hand. The Italian imitation exceeded it in general interest, however. Too much time, stage and money for this act. F. S. 25 min. "MUDTOWN MINSTRELS." CRANE BROTHERS.--A scream to, the limit. These people are well known here but their "Special Announcement" act went just as brilliantly as ever and scored immensely. These three Rubes are different, and by no means imitators even from one another. Their grotesque make-up could wring mirth out of anything, but, their lines are irresistable. Got shouts of laughter and a Hurrah at the close. 20n min. in 1. HOUDINI.--This man is more than keeping up his reputation. He is simply jamming our house afternoon and evening, and we shall hold him for a third week, as Philadelphia is Houdini-crazy. He has done two big public stunts, which have had as good a press representation as could be expected from this close combine here, and will do another later this week. He is simply the master of his craft, and to our minds stands without a vaudeville peer, as a puller of business. 20 to 30 min. or any old time he wants, for he jams the house and sends them away guessing. He certainly makes good with his audience to the limit, and has them cheering at the close. ELINORE SISTERS.--Two women, one in grotesque Irish costume, the other as stongly in contrast as possible, being a most stunning knightly creation in blue. Songs well chosen and rendered by the latter, but the fun of the former carries all before it. Following Houdini is no easy matter, but these clever women did it immensely. Lines bright and laughs frequent. Excellent feature for this spot on the bill. 12 min. 1. PICCIANI TROUPE.--Absolutely one of the best closing acts ever offered Vaudeville patrons, beautifully gowned, finished and skillful. Every act receives a hand and some of this a deafining round. Four women and three men, all of even brilliancy of work. Cannot say too much in its praise. 10 swift minutes, F. S. KINETOGRAPH.-- Misadventures of a Hat. Full of dash and fun. Curious Discovery. Rather clever and passes. Life of a Newsboy. Melodramatic and well acted cut. Catches the gallery strongly.
