Report on Providence Show, Week of February 12th, 1906. Charles Lovenberg, Manager. The show this week panned out better than I thought it would. It is not a great bill, but is quite satisfactory. Potter & Harris Man and a woman in a very neatly dressed ring act. Good act to open the show. 10 Min. Full Stage, 3 shows. Bernard Williams Comedy card manipulator. This man does a little funny talk and sings a song, then does manipulating of billiard balls and cards. Fairly good three a day act. 10 Min, in one, 3 shows. Three Madcaps Dancers and acrobats. Well known on the circuit. All right in unimportant spot on the bill. 10 Min. Full Stage, 3 shows. Shubert Quartette Two men and two women in a very decent singing act. Very valuable three-a-day act. 11 Min. in one, 3 shows. Metcalf, Paddock & Edwards Musical act patterned after Waterbury Brothers & Tenny. It is a long ways after. The comedian is the whole act as he does all the best musical work as well as the comedy. The other two men are rank amateurs. I would call it a good three-a-day act but would not care to get it on a minute after 3 o'clock. 18 Min, open in 3, close in one, 2 shows. Mysterious Sphere Belle Stone locks herself in a globe and travels up and down a spiral. Something of a novelty and all right for that reason. 10 Min. Full Stage, 2 shows. Katherine Bloodgood Of course we all know that Miss Bloodgood can sing and is a very handsome woman, but she has about the poorest lot of songs for vaudeville purposes I have ever heard. I have requested her to change her selections, but as she has been thus requested at some of the other houses without effect, I am afraid there will be no result from my request. Not nearly as good an act as Charlotte Guyer George, who does three shows for one-third the money. 8 Min. in one, 2 shows. Callahan & Mack In "The Old Neighborhood". The advance applause given these men indicated that they are welcome, but the act did not go nearly as strong as heretofore. It has undoubtedly been seen here too much. I would not care to play them, in this act, again. 22 Min. Full Stage, 2 shows. Solomon ll. Lightning Calculator. This man does some really remarkable work and, in a way, gets some laughs. 14 Min. in One, 3 shows. Very valuable three a day turn. Miss Norton and Paul Nicholson In "The Ladies' Tailor". Act well-known on the circuit altho this is its first appearance here. Made a decided hit. 25 Min. in three, 2 shows. Hathaway & Walton Dancing act, well-known on the circuit. Very good three a day act. 9 Min in one, 3 shows. Paul Conchas. This man lived up to his reputation and made a big hit. Comedy introduced by assistant better than any juggling act I know. 25 Min. Full Stage, 2 shows. Frank Bush Went very well indeed. Entirely new lot of stories. 20 Min. in One, 2 shows. MacCarte Sisters Very good act. Previously described. 15 Min. Full Stage. 2 shows. Keith Motion Pictures Life of a Newsboy, good. Misadventures of a Hat, good comedy. Curious Discovery, good comedy.
