Report on Providence show, Week of February 19th. The show in its entirety is satisfactory. It would hardly be s enough without a strong a headline feature as Houdini, but with him thoroughly alright. The acts all went with an easy audience, the house being packed, of course. The Nohrens Trapeze act. Been on the circuit before. Fairly good act. All right for an early spot on bill. 10 Min. Full Stage, 3 shows. Kittie Stevens Character changes and dances. The changes are all made quite rapidly and cleverly, but the dancing amounts to very little. All right for an early spot at the price. 9 Min. in two, 3 shows. Warner & Lakewood In "The Scarecrow and the Maid". Pretty good novelty, with splendid possibilities which these people do not realize. Man does a pretty good eccentric and acrobatic dance. Woman is decidedly excess. Singing very poor. 15 Min. in full stage, 3 shows. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lucier In "A Rustic Romeo". First hit of the afternoon. Act has improved since last here. Woman clever and the man's trick violin imitations went very big. Full stage, 3 shows, 17 Min. About three minutes in one. Very good 3 a day act. Fetching Brothers In "A Musical Flower Garden". These men are Providence products and were given a pretty good welcome. Act a bit novel and comedy fair, but music is very mediocre. Would be a good three a day act, but as it is get entirely too much money. 16 min, 2 shows, Open Full Stage, close about 2 Min. in one. Redford & Winchester. Burlesque jugglers. These men have improved wonderfully since they were last here. Comedy is excellent and everything went with a scream. Juggling also improved. Big applause and laughing hit. 15 Min. 2 shows, Full Stage. Own drop with wood wings. W. J. McDermott Tramp monologuist. For the money, a good act. Sousa imitation good, but while it got laughs throughout, did not get particularly strong applause at finish. 3 shows, in One, 12 Min. Edmund Day & Co. In ""The Sheriff". Seen on circuit before. My opinion of this act is the same as last season,- that it is an excellent vehicle but badly acted. Because of the merit of the sketch itself, may be classed as good, although having had it twice now I would not care to play it again. Full stage, Own set, 22 Min. 2 shows. Gilroy, Haynes & Montgomery Singing and comedy act. Carry their own drop showing ship. Some good singing and good comedy. Valuable act for this kind. 20 Min. in One, 2 shows. Caprice, Lynn & Fay One of the nicest sister teams we have ever had in the house. Girls all good looking, excellently dressed and good dancers. Work done with artistic finish. 14 Min. open in 3, close in one. 2 shows. Houdini This man was responsible for the largest advance sale in the history of vaudeville at this theatre. Did not make the great sensation he will tonight and later on when he will do his more sensational box trick and straight jacket. However, he made a big stir and is probably the most talked of feature we have ever played. He is a wonderful worker, which is a big part of his success and some big tricks are in store for the remainder of the week. Broke out of prison here today. 23 Min. Full Stage, 2 shows. Orpheus Comedy Four Same act they have given heretofore. Went big in extremely tough spot on the bill. 15 Min. in One, 2 shows. Wilton Brothers Funniest bar act in the business. 16 Min. Full Stage. 2 shows. Kinetograph O. K.
