Cleveland Show, Week of Feb. 12, '06. (H. A. Daniels.) ALFRED ARNESEN--Equilibrist. One of the best in the business. He presents a clean cut act, and does many unusual feats in the equilibristic line. Very good act of the kind. Drop in one. 8 min. LUIGI DEL ORO--Virtuso Musicale solo on the Armonipede. After the novelty of the first selection worked off, 7/8 of the audience were reading their programs. There is no doubt that the man works hard, and he is probably an artist for he stills wears his medals. For an act in one he is much more acceptable than Joe Flynn, but I still doubt the value of the act for this house. He may be good, but I would not care to play the act again for sometime. Drop in one. 12 min. BURTON & BROOKS--2 men. Talking sketch "The Limit." It is practically the same act they did last year entitled "A Can of Humor." Their work elicited a few laughs, and they were well received in this spot of the bill. C. D. F. 3, close in one. 23 min. LOUISE MELROSE & 4 AUTO GIRLS--Opening with a song and dance with the 5 girls in auto costume. They change to 4 girls in gentlemen's evening dress with Miss Montrose in an evening gown, in singing and dancing specialty here. Miss Montrose does impersonations of German, Negro and Irish characters. Act closes with the 5 dressed as cowboys doing an appropriate dancing specialty. Miss Montrose is quite clever. The act is Thoroughly all right for this spot on the bill. Garden in 4. 12 min. ELMER TENLEY--Monologue. The brightest, cleverest, and newest monologue I have ever heard. There was not an old joke in the lot. His satire act went with laughter and applause throughout, and the audience seemed to be thoroughly entertained every minute he was on the stage. Drop in one. 15 min. ROSE COGHLAN & CO.--Miss Coughlan and one man. The man is not the same "Lynn Pratt" that I saw with her in New York 5 years ago. However, This man is as good an actor as his predecessor. The sketch, "The Ace of Trumps," is a serious dramatic affair. it held the closest attention of the audience throughout. A very good act. C. D. F. in 4. 24 min. THE MYSTERIOUS ZANCIGS--Second week. Act is well known. They will undoubtedly go better this week than last, as most of these freak acts do. Drop in one. 14 min. THE TWO MEERS--Originally the three Meers (one of them is sick.) 2 men in a comedy wire act that is very good. Their work was laughed at and applauded, and they seemed to thoroughly please this afternoon. C. D. F. 3. 14 min. KINETOGRAPH--The great football game. Only fair. The Hoodoo Automobile. Good comedy. COMMENT--The show as a whole is good, and is thoroughly all right. From Monday afternoon indications it would appear that Miss Coughlan would be a good drawing card.
