Cleveland Show, Week of Feb. 19th, '06. ([?]. A. Daniels.) TOTO--Musical Automaton. Has been described in the other houses. This is the first of three successive freak acts that we have to open the show this week. Went much better than I expected. Received some applause at the close. Good act. C. D. F. in 3. 9 min. SOLOMON 11--This fellow is the champion freak. The Monday afternoon audience landed on him before he was on the stage 5 min. I am sorry the act is here. It was impossible to keep the boys in the gallery from guying him, and the people in the orchestra seats, did not seem to enjoy it. Drop in one. 9 min. BELLE STONE--Mysterious Sphere. Locked in a metal sphere she ascends and descends a spiral tower. This is the third of the freak acts. Received some applause at the close. Full stage. 9 min. LE ROY & WOODFORD--Man and woman. Talking act. Well known in the Keith Houses. Act received some laughs, but did not seem to be particularly strong. I have seen them go much better in an earlier place on the bill. Drop in one. 17 min. MAYME REMINGTON AND HER PICKS--I have never known this act to fail to make good. She always has something new, and her Picks are the best drilled of any we play. Very good act. Open in one. 2 special drops in 2. Close in one. 13 min. VALERIE BERGERE & CO.--in "Carmen." 3 men and 3 women. While the production is pretentious from a scenic standpoint, the act is not as good as the Japanese sketch she played last year. It is not as well suited to vaudeville. Miss Bergere in the Spanish character of Carmen is not as good as her impersonation of the Japanese maiden. Special set in 5. 26 min. RAYMOND & CAVERLY--German Comedians. Had some little story today about the Roosevelt-Longworth wedding. Most of their stuff went quite well. They introduced a burlesque on "Carmen", that made quite a hit. Very good act. Drop in one. 22 min. Cut out--Song about the doctor's pants. Has Alice Roosevelt got a leg on each corner. KAUFMANN TROUPE--5 girls and 3 boys. Well known in the Keith Houses and needs no comment. An excellent act. Tremendously applauded throughout. Full stage. 17 min. KINETOGRAPH-- A joke on the roundsman. Good. Scenes and views of people in Ceylon. Good. Three phases on the Moon. Good.
