Report on Providence Show, Week of February 26th. Charles Lovenberg, Mgr. The Be-Anos Comedy contortion act. The comedy is something "fierce" The contortion work of the man will get by, but the woman hardly. May be considered good enough to open the show in a continuous house. 11 Min. in full stage. 3 shows. Ed Cray This man would be very good if he would get some new material. For the lack of it, he is only useable in an unimportant spot on the bill. 12 Min. in one, 3 shows. Arlington Comedy Four Very good quartette of young fellows made up as messenger boys, one in black face. Singing good of that kind and the dancing decidedly clever. Made a decided hit this afternoon. Can stand a better place. 15 Min. in Two, can work in One. 3 shows. Kennedy & Quarrelli These men have certainly gone backwards. This afternoon, gave one of the poorest acts I ever saw. Fell down and fumbled everything they attempted. 18 Min. Full stage. Can close in One. 3 shows. Eddie Mack Novelty dancer. Very clever act. Only fault to be found in its extreme shortness. 8 Min. in One. 3 shows. Bobby North This man does fairly well. All right for an early two a day spot. Good material, notably parody of operatic airs. 17 Min. in One, 2 shows. Waterbury Bros. & Tenny Giving a new act. Hardly as good as their old one, but it is nevertheless good and was well accepted this afternoon. 23 Min. Open full stage, close in One, 2 shows. Basque Quartette This act, unless they make some changes in the selections, will not be desirable again. Started in rather weak, but finished strong with "Faust" selection 11 Min. in One, 2 shows. Henry and Alice Taylor One of the nicest novelty acts we ever played. I do not think the man has been given, in previous reports, the credit due him. He is a remarkably clever balancer and equilibrist, and the woman's shooting is about the best we have ever had. Most desirable act. 20 Min. Full stage, 2 shows. Quinlan & Mack In "The Travelling Dentist", about half of which is new. Went very strong indeed. 17 Min. in One, 2 shows. Ryan & Richfield In "Mag Haggerty's Reception". Sequel to the previous Haggerty sketches. While this act is hardly as legitimate as the other two Haggerty sketches, it is considerable funnier, and kept the audience in screams from start to finish. 25 Min. Full stage, 2 shows. Frank Bryan's Peace Congress of American Girls The prettiest girl act we have had in vaudeville, Thirteen attractive girls, who have good voices, and three men. Act is novel and very stirring, and the "give your kind applause" is not as apparent as might be expected from the nature of the act. Music lively, costumes effective. Act went with spontaneous applause. The only bad feature of the act is that it is anti-climatic. I have spoken to Mr. Bryan and he is going to try to remedy this tonight, for the audience this afternoon went out in big numbers before the "Old Ironsides" speech, which is the finish of the act. If he does not remedy it, the program should have a strong Note to ask the audience to wait for the finish, otherwise the last part of the act is lost. Full Stage (With a short opening in One) 2 shows, 20 Min.
