Personally, Miss Fay makes a very pleasing presentation. How Phila. will take her remains to be seen. KATHERINE BLOODGOOD:- Contralto, 12 min. in 1. Went very well indeed to-day, coming after such a quiet act as the foregoing. Has a very good voice and pleasing stage presence. Selections were a little trite, but she received two encores and may be regarded as all right at her figure for this house. HERZOG SISTERS:- 2 shows, 12 min. F.S. Head and hand balancers. A remarkable trio of acrobats. Their work is very skillful and daring, particularly the walking up the stairs turning about and walking down again balancing head to head. In fact, the last part of this act held the audience breathless and they went off to immense applause. One of the best acrobatic acts we have had in this house. BASQUE QUARTETTE:- 2 shows 15 min. in 1. Four excellent singers of the Italian school, in Basque holiday attire. They sing selections from the Grand Operas with great precision and spirit. Made a decided hit with the final selection which they were compelled to repeat. Went off with a very strong hand. A good feature for this music-loving town. ANNA EVA FAY, Second Section:- This was much more encouraging. Miss Fay was blindfolded and covered with a sheet directly back of the footlights She called out the names of thirty or forty people one after the other asking them to hold up the questions they had written on pieces of paper. She read these questions and gave answers to them all without any errors. Some of these are questions relating to money, health, love affairs, and miscellaneous subjects. There was considerable fun in many of her answers and the swiftness of the work was reassuring. Think there is no doubt about her making good as she will have the whole town asking questions before the week is out. As this makes each and every patron of the house a party to the act. The applause following some difficult answers to puzzling questions was strong, and at the finish Miss Fay got quite an ovation. It is a parallel matinee performance to that of Houdini in that the audience does not quite catch on to the interest of the act until toward the close. However, she will be well talked about I am sure and before the close of the week I feel confident she will pack the house. HOWARD and NORTH:- "Those were Happy Days":- 20 min. in 1. Carry their own drop. One works straight and the other eccentric Rube. These people went very well indeed. Their comedy is original and their "business" particularly happy. The laughs were constant. They got two recalls at the finish. These people could hold any place on the Vaudeville bill. MOSHER, HOUGHTON & MOSHER:- 15 min. F.S. 2 shows. Bicycle trio, two working straight and one eccentric comedy. Smashing good closing act. They have some new feats, and this comedy part is real comedy and not mere filling-in. Their stunts received very good applause, and the finish was strong. KINETOGRAPH:- PECK'S BAD BOY:- Not particularly brilliant comedy series, but gets by. QUAIL HUNTING IN PINEHURST, N.C.-A very brisk and interesting run of pictures in the open air, and like the moose-hunting series of two weeks ago went very well. THE FLAT-DWELLERS:- One of the best comedy series that we have had in a long time. It got a great many hearty laughs. CHARLES ROLATRE:- 15 min. in 1. Magician. 3 shows. Has some good tricks and has a pleasing way of presenting them. Received considerable applause for that sort of an act. Is O.K. in the three-a-day class. GENERAL REMARKS:- The bill is lacking in comedy and is too serious, however, by making a shift, the matter will be remedied. Think that Miss Fay will bring to the house lots of people who are not regular Keith patrons. The house was well filled and the prospects for a good week are promising. The following cuts were deemed advisable:- From BROOKS BROTHERS:- "Katz's Brewery." BABY OWENS & CO:- "Schlitz in pants." The word "spit". Picking out persons in the audience and directing lines to them, much to their embarrassment. Kicking the stuffing out of the Englishmen. Hunter's Rye. Baby Mine at the finish.
