PITTSBURG, PA. GRAND OPERA HOUSE FEB. 26th, 1906. THREE MADCAPS - 10 minutes, wood. Acrobatic dancing act. This act does fairly well for us but could be much improved in appearance if they would send their dresses to the laundry occasionally. BELLE STONE "Mysterious Sphere" 10 minutes, wood. Miss Stone gets inside a steel ball and rolls up a spital tour. This act does very well the early part of the bill. we have her at 8:00 o'clock, which is about l to be I would care to play her. SOLOMON SNOOD - "Master of mathematics" 14 min. olio in one. 3 shows. His work is lightening calculating which he does very well but the great fault with the act is that there is too much circus about it. However, he is a very oll in the continuous among the three a days. ZAZELL & VERNON "Pantomimic entertainers" 15 min. This is not a good act. There is nothing to it and were I paying them half the salary they are receiving, my criticism would be the same. MARTIN BROS-"Xylophone soloists". 2 shows. I consider this a very good act- much better than we are in the habit of getting among the three shows. JAS. T. POWERS-assisted by White City Quartette. 22 minutes, interior. Mr. Powers is a very hard worker and I think a very clever comedian. He pleased very well here and I feel sure if he had the proper vehicle, his would be among the best acts in vaudeville. I do not think there is anyone in vaudeville who tries harder to please than Mr. Powers. MOLLIE RYAN - 2nd week. 10 minutes, olio-in Irish ballads. Miss Ryan has made quite a hit in Pittsburg. I feel sure that she has brought us considerable money. She did a great deal of work among the Irish Societies, which brought out a good many non-theatre goers. BARROWS-LANCASTER CO-23 min. Interior. in their sketch, "Tactics". I think "Tactics" is among their best sketches, but do not think they play it quite as well as the do some of their other sketches. However, the act was a hit here. QUIGLEY BROS-Street. 15 min. Irish talking act-"Congressman-at-large". This act went better than ever before. I think they are one of the best laugh getting acts we play. JULIAN ELTINGE-12 minutes-garden, in his "Feminine Impersonations". I think this is one of the nest of the kind in the business. He went big with is at every performance and caused a great deal of talk. ANNIE ABBOTT-"The Georgia Magnet" 18 min. This act is too well known to need criticism. This is her second appearance here, We had her close the show this week and she held our audience to the last. She surely mystifies and entertains the public and causes considerable talk on the outside. I think she is drawing some money. WHITE CITY QUARTETTE - 12 minutes in one. 3 shows. This is not a good act. They are working with Jas. T. Powers and we are using them in our supper show. Would not recommend this act to be used at any other time. John P. Harris.
