Houdini, 2 shows, 37 min. full stage--Seemed to be no diminution of interest in this man's work. This morning we had him break jail beore a distinguished assemblage and all the papers took it up in grand shape. This afternoon he broke out of a difficult pair of handcuffs and escaped from a leather straitjacket supposed to weigh 50 pounds . Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following list of interesting motion pictures: 1. Quail Hunting at Pinehurst, N. C. Good film 2. The Flat Dwellers. Fair comedy 3. Peck's Bad Boy. Fair comedy Lennon & Edwards, 3 shows, 15 min. in 3--Man and woman, in singing skit. They have fair voices and do fairly well in the early 3-show spot. Martin Brothers, 3 shows, 12 min. in 1--Well-known xylophonists. Awfully poor spot today for these people, but it is about the only thing you can do. Comment:- Without Houdini this would be a very poor show indeed. Mr. and Mrs. Edmonde fall short in their sketch; Clifford decidedly flat; 4 Londons missing half of their tricks being compelled to give them up; Joe Flynn only going passably, making considerable of a dent in the audience of our 2-show division. We had the usual Houdini capacity audience. There is no question but what the record-breaking business will continue for the balance of the week.
