225 PHILADELPHIA SHOW. MARCH 28, 1906. C. E. BARNS MORTON & DIAMOND, Irish Comedy Sketch;- 16 min. Parlor in 3, close in 1. 3 shows. Man and woman, both working eccentric. Good rough-house comedy. The comedy dancing was by far the best part, and got a recall, adding an echo stunt which brought a good many laughs. JOSIE & WILLIE BARROWS, Refined singing and dancing:- 12 min. in 1. 3 sh. Boy and girl working straight. Singing passable, but the dancing is quite commendable. The girl's toe-dancing got a good hand. In fact, there is very little in this act except the dancing, but it is all to the good. Each one of their stunts got a hand. The girl is very pretty and tastefully gowned. O.K. for this place on the bill. ADAMS & MACK, Mysterious conjurer and Burlesque Necromancer:- 15 min in 3, 3 shows. Two men, one working eccentric, and the other straight. Fairly good for the three-a-day section. None of the sleight-of-hand features were especially new, but the booby disclosing the methods brought some scattered laughs. The star trick was to obviously imitation of Goldin who was here last week, and consequently closed weak. SENATOR FRANK BELL, Topics of the Day:- 19 min. in 1, 3 shows. Some bright lines. Received a few scattered laughs. Once in a while got a good hand from the gallery, but is not strong enough to wake up a rainy day house. Fair hand at the close. One curtain call. Short in time this afternoon, but promises to pull up to-night. THE FADETTES, of Boston:- 25 min. F.S. Absolutely the best high-class Vaudeville attraction in this country. They make a very fine appearance, and there is a home-like feeling instantly established between the musicians and audience. The selections were very apt, and the encores constant. The musical work of these people is all that could be desired from the musical standpoint. They play with great feeling, brilliancy of technique, and interspersed the numbers with choruses and whistling features which took the crowd immensely. The closing number illustrative of an American circus got a rousing hand and at the close of their act they received an ovation. Mrs. Nichols was recalled three times. On the whole, an act like this makes up for any shortcomings of an otherwise weak bill. We are billing them pretty strong, and there is no doubt of their bringing big money to the house these two coming weeks, for this is just such an act as Philadelphians appreciate. CARTER & BLUFORD, Singing & dancing:- 17 min. in 1. Man and woman in variety of songs and dances with various character changes. They made a decided hit. The girl is very pretty. The songs were well selected and well rendered. The Spanish fantasy, the Indian and Rube each received a good strong hand. They have a personality about them and succeed very well with all classes of the house. Carry their own drops. This act would go most anywhere on the bill and make good. last feature with flags is very beautiful. One of the best closing acts we have ever had. was found necessary to make a shift in the bill so that the Fadettes could go down a little later, with the proper people to set them and to follow. The order is thus: Carew & Hayes.....6.52 Morton & Diamond.....6.48 J. & 2. Barrows.....7.05 Adams & Mack.....7.13 Frank Bell.....7.30 Keith's Orchestra.....7.44 De Mar & Fortune.....7.44 Mareena, Nevarro, & M.....8.03 Carter & Bluford.....8.15 The Fadettes.....8.30 Bobby North.....9.03 Barrows-Lancaster Co......9.20 Quinlan & Mack.....9.45 Six Proveannies.....10.01 Kinetograph.....10.15 10.30-
