APRIL 2, 1908. PHILADELPHIA SHOW C.E. Barns. GOETZ & NELSON:-Jugglers on the Revolving Globe:- 10 min. F.S. 3 shows. Same act they have been doing in this house before. Always a good opener, and could go later if necessary. Well received by the audience. CHERRY & BATES, Comedy Trick Bicyclists:- 12 min. F.S. 3 shows. One working straight, the other eccentric. Pretty fair, but they have done the same thing before. Some of their tricks got a good hand. Fell rather short of expectations, particularly in the comedy, which was forced fun, and not spontaneous. Does not belong in the 2-a-day class. N.B. These people were booked for three shows, but flashed contract for two--an error in making out the contract, evidently. They played two shows, since we were in no great need of material. SOMERS & LAW:-Comedians:- 15 min. in 1. One works straight the other Dutch comedy. Rather talky and long drawn out. There were a few scattered laughs through the house. Just gets by for a 3-a-day. Law sings rather well. They 229 3. GENERAL REMARKS:- As was intimated above, the bill is lacking in comedy, more than that, there was difficulty in securing acts in one to set and strike the Fadettes, and to set the Riccobono's Horses. We have shifted the bill and it will run as below, making good, no doubt, as well as could be expected with the strong opposition of the Hippodrome and base ball season, both opening this week. Shifted Schedule:- Goetz & Nelson.....6.25 Somers & Law.....6.35 Browning, Welp & Co......6.50 Cherry & Bates.....7.12 Keith's Orchestra.....7.24 Mr. & Mrs. Edmonde.....7.30 Sailor & Barbaretto.....7.35 Fadettes.....8.05 Crane Bros......8.33 Macy & Hall.....8.50 Blockson & Burns.....9.12 Louise Montrose.....9.26 Harry Atkinson.....9.41 Riccobono's Horses.....9.55 Kinetograph.....10.10 10.30.
