231 (F. J. O'Connor) Boston Show, Week of April 2, 1906 Overture, 7 min. --Selections from "The Prince of Pilsen". George H. Diamond and Will C. Smith, 3 shows, 18 min. in 1-- In songs illustrated with motion pictures. The pictures are of a stirring order and the singers were frequently interrupted with burst of applause. The films are excellent and I would call it an excellent act of this sort for the 3-show section. Nessen, Hunter & Nessen, 3 shows, 10 min. full stage--Two men working straight and the other in eccentric makeup, club jugglers and hoop rollers. Nothing extraordinary in their work but all neatly done. Makes a pleasing act for the 3-show section. Phil and Nettie Peters, 2 shows, 16 min. in 1--In a comedy and singing specialty. They did not strike our audience very hard, even in this easy spot today. For this house, their proper spot would be in the 3-show division. Ferreros, 2 shows, 13 min. full stage--Musical clown playing on accordians, etc. The work he does himself does not amount to very much, but the dog he carries with him made a big impression with our audience, which justifies holding the act in this spot. It is especially timely for us as this is vacation week here. Dillon Brothers, 2 shows, 14 min. in 1--Got quite an advance hand. For some reason or other, they did not get the applause and laughter which is probably given them elsewhere. Nevertheless, they went acceptably in this spot and will no doubt go better to night. Clayton White and Marie Stuart, 2 shows, 31 min. in 3--In the character comedy sketch "Paris". A scream and howl throughout. Latina, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Physical culture girl.Pleased mightily in this spot and closed to quite a hand. Very useful act for the 3-show section and one of the sort that may be put down in the 2-show division and make good. Wilson Trio, 2 shows, 13 min. in 1--Two men and a woman, in a comedy talking and singing sketch. They showed considerable greenness or tone of the burlesque house, and did nots trike the audience very hard in this spot today. They are not bad, but we had them on a little too late. Will move them up for the night show. Parros Brothers, 2 shows, 12 min. n 3--European equilibrist giving one of the best exhibitions of equilibrism we have seen here for a long time. Went with applause throughout. cluded to cancel before their first show, for which I am thankful, as we have plenty of show without them. Senator Frank Bell, 3 shows, 13 min. in 1--Has been described from new York. Did very well in this spot today. Good for the 3-show section. Jack Conlin and Mabel Hastings, 3 shows, 14 min. in 2--In the comedy and vocal specialty. The girl makes a fair appearance and has an ordinary voice. Nothing beyond the ordinary in the act and it is in the best spot where it is. Comment: The show is a very good one in that it is well balanced, and I expect business will continue as it has the preceding weeks.
