Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of APRIL 8, 1906. (CHARLES LOVENBERG, MGR.)
The bill plays very well indeed. Much better than I thought it would. We had a big house, the best Monday afternoon since Lent began due to two causes; the working up of "Lafayette" and the fact that the week is made a school holiday for the first time since I have been in Providence and it will be hereafter (Holy Week.)
Bell Boy Trio. Singing and dancing act; could go a little ways further down the bill. 15 min. in 1, 3 shows.
Griff Brothers. Two men and some exceptionally good work on the rings, mostly muscular and iron jaw. In the latter they do some of the best feats I ever saw. Could go in the early 2 a day section. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. 
"Senator" Frank Bell. Stump speech of the old style which went very well indeed. 11 min. in 1, 3 shows.
Mlle. Mabel. With dogs and monkeys. This act is somewhat crude, but being presented by a little girl, very nice appearance, it makes an especially good three a day offering, and I should advise playing it in that section over the circuit. Would be all right to open the show in the other houses. 15 min. full stage, 3 shows.
Young & Melville. Lively song and dance team (man and woman) who got by in good shape. 10 min. in 1, 3 shows.
Hutchinson, Bainbridge & Co. In "THE IDOL SMASHER". Very good sketch well played. 20 min. full stage, 2 shows.
Harry Atkinson. Imitator. This man's act has been described before. It was hardly strong enough for the tough place I had it in this afternoon so I moved it to this spot. Any time before nine o'clock, it should be thoroughly all right. 12 min. in 1, 2 shows.
Fleurette DeMar & Tom Fortune. All things considered this is the lightest act on the bill. I just barely escapes being in the three a day class. I never could see "Fleurette"; Fortune's singing is fair and the audience were thoroughly satisfied to let them go when they finished. 18 min. closing in one, 2 shows.
LAFAYETTE. Presenting first his Protean work and magic, finishing with his Travesty Band. Went much better than I thought he would. Held the audience in good style, got considerable laughter and applause and that he should draw them in, was well demonstrated. 43 min. full stage, 2 shows.
Marion Garson. Girl soprano. Well known, and made one of the hits of the show. 11 min. in 1, 2 shows.
Mareena, Nevaro & MAREENA. Excellent acrobatic comedy act. One of the best. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows.
Wilson Trio. I had them in an earlier spot this afternoon and they went very well indeed. Whether they will be able to hold down this place, remains to be seen. I haven't an act that I can - with safety - put here. 17 min. in one, 2 shows.
Lion's Bride. After a lot of Tomfoolery - which doesn't amount to much, they got down to quite a sensational finish which was startling enough to have a lot of women run up the aisle, out of their seats,- finishing with really a good illusion. I haven't discovered how he does it myself. 12 min. full stage, 2 shows.
