238 APRIL 9th, 1906. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. C.E. BARNS. ALLEN & DALTON, Comedy Musicians:- 18 min. in 3. 3 Shows. Very good opener. Their musical work is strong with the possible exception of the trombone and sazophone duo. The bells and the cornet and trombone duo won a good encore. The lines are weak, and not up to the standard of the musical or comedy work. Nevertheless, this is a good 3-a-day act. LE MAIRE & LE MAIRE, Comedians:- 13 min. in 1. 3 shows. These people were not wholly acceptable. Their rough and tumble comedy is of the crudest order, and their offenses in the matter of vulgarism were constant. One work Jew comedy and the other straight. They promise to change their 3. TRILLERS, Rag Pictures:- 3 shows. 16 min. in 3. This is a very novel feature for the 3-a-day section, and the audience took it so quite heartily. Each one of their pictures got a good gallery hand. this act could even hold a much better place on the bill. KINETOGRAPH:-SUMMER BOARDERS;- Fairly good comedy series, and got a few scattered laughs. LIFE ON SHIPBOARD;-Better than the foregoing and sufficiently novel to hold the interest. LOSE COLLAR BUTTON:-Another comedy series that is a little too obviously faked up. However, the three together make a fairly good Kinetograph show for this week, but scarcely up to our usually high standard. GENERAL REMARKS;-On the whole this is a very excellent show. There is plenty of comedy which is a great relief, as we have been shy on comedy for some weeks past. The house is packed to the doors, in spite of the fact that it is raining heavily outside. There were more cuts this week than for a month past, but there is no doubt about the telling strength of the bill as a whole.
