Temple Theater, Detroit, Mich., April 9, 1906. The Great Petching Bros. gave us a very pretty and novel musical act that could be improved if both worked straight, as the comedy is not up to requirements. 17 min. F. S. Can close in one. Johnson and Wells, the colored entertainers, went strong as usual and proved very acceptable in this spot. 12 min. in one. The Columbians, five people, have a very good sight act, and while the singing and dancing is not above mediocre the costumes and general variety of the act create a good impression. 16 min. F. S. 5 in one. Salerno is a juggler who has Cinquevalla and all others beaten forty ways. He is unassuming, and his work created a genuine sensation. He cannot be billed too strong. 16 min. F. S. Louise Gunning is better than ever before. She received much advance applause and was recalled repeatedly. 10 min. in one. Barney Fagan and Henrietta Byron have only a fair act, nothing for them to claim headline honors for. Miss Byron has several pretty gowns. The act is not in the same class with the Gould-Suratt act. 21 F. S. James J. Morton, the boy comic, got into an argument with a hack driver in Rochester and missed the first two shows here. He opened Tuesday o. k. Six Proveanies, girls on bicycles, have an excellent act of this kind, and it is fully worth the money paid it if not more. 8 min. FS
