WARD & CURRAN, in, "The Terrible Judge":- 19 min. F.S. close in 1. 2 shows. Strong advance applause for both, showing that to return old favorites is at times most judicious. This is an old act with an entirely new line of goods, and is immense. It went big from start to the close. The applause and laughter was at times almost at the shouting point. The imitations of the Chinaman, Irishman, German Professor, etc, were splendidly done, as well as the songs. The close was in one. At the second recall Ward made a little impromptu speech which brought down the house. FRANK BYRON & LOUISE LANGDON, in "The Dude Detective":- 19 min. F.S. 2 shows. A comedy quite out of the run. The woman is somewhat conventional, but the "Dude Detective" is a new type very well worked out. The lines are very funny and given with good effect. The laughs were many. The close was strong enough to merit two encores of Byron's song. these people are O.K. for this place on the bill. DELIGHT BARSCH and THE BROOMSTICK WITCHES:- 14 min. F.S. 2 shows. One of the prettiest girl-acts we have had. there are eight girls besides Miss Barsch. All make fine appearance in Japanese costume. The girls are pretty and the two changes of costume all that could be desired of such an act. Miss Barsch herself is a very stunning girl, with a personality which took from the start. She sings with good taste and quite won the house. In fact, the last feature, "the witches' dance" with Miss Barsch's singing, was recalled five times. The audience seemed never to tire of it.--"Isle of Spice" advertising helped much. POLK, KOLLINS & CARMEN SISTERS, Banjoists:- 13 min. in 1. These people are very clever with the banjo. Both duos are well known on the Circuit. Combining into a quartette is a fortunate hit. Each one of their features got a rousing applause. HARRY GILFOIL, "Baron Sands":- 23 min. in 3, close in 1, 2 shows. He is the same popular and artistic Gilfoil as of yore. Big advance hand. Held the interest of the audience throughout with his songs and imitations of animals and musical instruments. His work is as artistic as anything seen on the Vaudeville stage, and he can go on doing his "Baron Sands" with variations for years without any diminution of public interest in him as a personality and artist. He can hold any spot on the bill acceptably. THORNE & CARLETON, American Jesters:- 20 min. in 3, close in 1. 2 shows. Man and woman. These people are very clever. The man is certainly a born humorist, and his work is genuinely funny, as the laughs were constant, right up to the close. One of the best talking acts we have had of the kind, not the least hackneyed. Went very strong to the end. The work in one got a very good hand. Held down the hardest spot on the bill splendidly. BYERS & HERMANN, Contortionists:- 14 min. F.S. 2 shows. Two men, one working straight and the other skeleton. There is a good deal of comedy in this act which is swift and skillful enough in an acrobatic way, to hold the attention of the audience. Got a good many laughs and an occasional good hand. The special drops are quite in keeping with the act and help its success very much. Difficult act for a closer, but it proved itself O.K. to-day. Ward & Curran.....7.04 McCrea & Poole.....8.20 Wilson Trio.....8.32 Broomstick Witches.....8.47 Polk, Kollins & C.S......9.02 Harry Gilfoil.....9.15 Thorne & Carleton.....9.38 Byers & Hermann.....9.56 Kinetograph.....10.10 10.30.
