Temple Theater, Detroit, Mich., April 23. Henry Leone & Annie Dale. An operatic sketch. Both have fair voices, but I think the act would be appreciated more further down in the bill. 17 min. F. S. 3 in one. Chas. Prelle's Dog Act. This is a distinct novelty, the French poodles, a dozen or more, impersonating different animals, greatly to the enjoyment of young and old. It was a distinct hit. 13 min. F. S. White City Quartet- This is James T. Powers company. The men have fair voices and do very well under the circumstances of their engagement. 13 min. in one. Three Sisters Macarte- A really great act. It includes a musical number on mandolins, a tight wire act and a trapeze act, all given with a pleasing grace that was both refreshing and exciting. 14 min. F. S. Emma Carus- Too much cannot be said in praise of this woman. Her very pleasing personality, her happy selection of songs, her repressed acting, made the biggest hit in this line this theater has ever known. She was compelled to sing five songs at Monday mat. 20 min. in one. James T. Powers & Co. Presenting a singing and comedy sketch called "Dreaming." From the adverse reports of this act I was prepared to be disappointed, but just the reverse was the result. I consider it one of the most enjoyable acts I ever witnessed. "Jimmie" Powers is the goods all the way, and some distance further. 25 min. F. S. Carlin & Otto- Went very strong as usual and were applauded all the way. 17 min. in one. "IN THE SUNNY SOUTH." This act was a knockout as it is 50 percent stronger than last year. It is capable of closing any bill. 18 min. F. S. Kinetograph. The pictures of San Francisco, before its destruction, are extraordinarily fine, and prove a great finale to a great bill. J. H. Finn.
