PHILADELPHIA SHOW, DEC, 12TH'04. H. A. DANIELS. MILLS & MORRIS-GYH-3-Two girls, blackface act. Local girls. Good voices. Songs and jokes. All right act for the three show section. CUTS: "My nose isn't running, is yours?" "You're a fool." 15 mins. in one. MARINELLAS-KR-3-Man and woman, swinging ring act. They do some very good work, and their act can be classed as very good for the three show section. 10 mins. Gar. in 4. KIMBALL & DONOVAN-AR-3-Two men, banjoists. Good three show banjo act--in fact, as good as many of the two show banjoists. 13 mins. in one. HERBERT & BROOKS-GRR-3-Magician, closing his act with a very mystifying trunk trick. Has been ever the circuit before. Very good three show act. 14 mins. C.D.F. in 2-1/2. ADA ARNOLDSON-AR-3-Vocalist. Has been over the circuit a number of times. Has a pleasing personality and a good voice. A good act in one for the three show section. 9 mins. in one. LAVENDER & TOMSON-GHR-2-Man and woman, in a comedy sketch, entitled "A Touchdown." The man appears in the role of a tough football player, and gets quite a good deal of fun out of the dialogue. Good act for the early two show section. 18 mins. C.D.F. in 3. CARTER & BLUFORD-KR-3-Man and woman, in an "Indian" sketch. Colored team, recruits from a quartette. Open in one in evening costume. Then two special drops in one and in 1-1/2, with water effect. Singing act. Good for three shows. 16 mins. Open in one, and use two special drops in one and 1-1/2. SIX GLINCERETTIS-MNH-2-Aerobatic act. Six men. A real Barnum Show act. They work rapidly and accurately. Do not stop to rest or pose, and present a corking good act. 10 mins. Pal. in 5. LUIGI DELL'ORO-GHR-2-Virtuoso Musicale. Uses a funny little throne to sit on, and it seemed to amuse the audience, for he worked both feet and hands at the same time, as if playing an enormous pipe organ. Plays an accordion, and offers a classical programme. The audience applauded his first offering, and then began to "guy" him unmercifully and kept breaking in on him with applause and screams of laughter. He took it seriously and wanted to continue, but he was stopped. This act will be buried. 13 mins. C.D.F. in 2-1/2. Close in one. MABEL MCKINLEY-AYH-2-Was given a reception on her entrance. Her name will draw business all week. We had an unusually well filled house to-day for a Monday, and it is probably due to her name. Good drawing card for once around. 14 mins. 3 Arch Fancy in 3. PAUL BARNES-GRR2-Tramp monologue. Well known on the circuit. In his place to-day he went very well. Had some good stuff, some of which was new. Good act. Cut out: "Did you ever see the cherokees strip?" and the grass widow story about planting seed. 20 mins. in one. EMMET DE VOY & CO.-YHR-2-Sketch entitled "The Saintly Mr. Billings." Two men and a woman. Opens with a "drunk" scene, out of which De Voy gets a lot of good comedy. The sketch is a good one, and the audience laughed continuously. (Cut out two devils and one hell.) Ended with a scream of laughter and took four curtains. 25 mins. C.D.F. in 3. COMMENT:-The Bill is good throughout, the best we have had in some time, with the exception of Luigi Dell'Oro. This act is a museum act, pure and simple. The man can do his whole act in one, or on the apron. He simply sits on his prop throne, bedecked in medals, and plays a large concertina or accordion for 13 minutes. The audience to-day "guyed" him unmercifully, and he had to be stopped. This was the only "kink" in an excellent bill. Cleveland says the act is a good one, and I believe it was placed third from last on their bill. I can only say that we will never care for the act again for this house.
