TEMPLE THEATER, DETROIT, MICH DEC. 6. YAMAMOTO BROTHERS Two Japanese men who do a wire and perch act that is very clever. It is one of the best acts of this kind we have ever played. 14 min. F. S. WILLIAM H. WINDOM This old-time minstrel presented a talking and singing act in black-face called "The Colored Nurse Girl. His line of talk is excellent and his singing is tuneful and pleasing. 15 min. in one. LIQUID AIR DEMONSTRATIONS Prof. Rugg presented this rather unusual vaudeville offering in a pleasing manner and succeeded in holding the close attention of the audience to the end. While I do not beleive that acts of this kind have a place on the vaudeville stage I am of the opinion that it will prove to be quite a drawing card, and that is was a good investment. 29 min. F. S. ELMER TENLEY This new-comer to Detroit rather surprised me by the general excellence of his work. As a monologist he compares very favorably with any other in this line of work. His line of talk is new, clean and bright, and he made a decided hit. 19 in one. MISS SAIDE MARTINOT This act was the only disappointing one on the bill. Her offering "Winning a Widow," is a talky, inane, literary abortion. Miss Martinot's enunciation was painful, and the man with her did not know his lines. She is one of the most disappointing headliners we have ever played, and I am sure the audience felt stung. 24 min. F.S. Mme. Slapoffski, nee Neilson This rather homely woman is a singer such as one seldom hears outside of grand opera. She is by far the best dramatic soprano that ever entered vaudeville. Her singing was a revelation to the audience and even the gallery appeared to be charmed by the grandeur of her voice. 12 in one. THE ORIGINAL FOUR MADCAPS This act is a very taking one with all classes of vaudeville patrons. The four chirpy girls do some good acrobatic stunts, clever dancing and are full to the brim with ginger and snap 11 min. F. S. RICE AND PREVOST This acrobatic-comedy act was the laughing hit of the bill. The acrobatic work is not only good but the comedy is excrutiatingly funny and had the audience in a shriek all the time. 11 min. FS With a good sketch in this bill it would be one of the most pleasing of the current season.
