Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Week of December 26th, 1904. Providence, R. I. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The bill this week is not at all satisfactory. With a very large and easy audience this afternoon, due to the after holiday spirit and many country people in, the various acts went very well but under normal circumstances the show would not make good at all and I don't look for any business other than what we would get on account of the schools being closed during the next three days of the week. I don't mean to say that the various acts are bad but there is no strength to the show. The only first class act on the bill is Hilliard's and he has been seen here so much that he has no draft although he thoroughly pleases when seen. KEITH'S THEATRE, PROVIDENCE, R. I. DECEMBER 20, 1904. Robert Hilliard & Co., "AS A MAN SOWS." Robert Hilliard last night presented a new sketch entitled "AS A MAN SOWS"; by many considered the strongest thing he has yet offered. While there may be some doubt about this, the fact still remains that he has an exceptionally strong vehicle and one that will carry him through vaudeville another couple of seasons, and in my mind, he should be booked in it at once. This regardless of any opinion that I may have had to the contrary before seeing this act which I have arranged for him to repeat during the remainder of the week. It is intensely dramatic but this off-set by some charming comedy by the little child who in this piece is given the best opportunity she has yet had in any of the Hilliard plays. I want to revise my report on Mathtews & Ashley who are making an unqualified hit. The remainder of my original report will stand. Charles Lovenberg. Manager.
