..........oOo.......... CRITICISM NEW YORK SHOW: WEEK JANY.16, 1905: ................... SHUNGOPAVI: HR-3: Drop 2, close in one, This man is a genuine Moke Indian. He dresses in his native costume and gives some clever tricks of magic, with a little monologue. The act is rather novel and went well. 17 minutes. NESSEN & NESSEN:KR-3: Full stage. Two men. Club jugglers and hoop manipulators. Pleasing little opening act. 11 minutes, close in one if necessary. THREE MITCHELLS: ER-3: Drop 1. Man and woman and little girl eleven years of age. Colored singing and dancing. This act we all know is a good one, but to-day they gave us a bad performance, probably due to Mitchell and the little girl suffering from a cold. 17 minutes. WOOD & RAY: GRR-3: Man and woman in an eccentric comedy sketch entitled "A Bit of Nonsense". There is no plot to the act, merely a lot of foolishness. They make the audience laugh, therefore, is a valuable 3-show a-day act. He introduces a new burlesque on the finish of his act, which is funny. 17 Mins. full stage, about 5 minutes in one. RAE & BROSCHE: GYH-2: Full stage. Man and woman in a sketch, "A Woman of a few words". They received quite a little advance applause. The act is the same as when presented here before. They score the biggest on their encore in one, which every one is familiar with. Open in one, close in one, 20 minutes. MR. & MRS. EDW. ESMONDE: GHR-2: Full stage. Man and woman in a one act dramatic sketch entitled "The Soldier of Propville". The act is on the order of Perkins Fisher's comedy. Mr. Esmonde impersonates an old soldier while the woman portrays a newspaper reporter, while trying to obtain a story from the 'old soldier of Propville', discovers her long lost Father. The act is rather a serious affair. Contains several laughs and is well acted. Very nicely received. 20 minutes. SEARL & VIOLET ALLEN: GHR-2: Drop 1. Man and woman presenting the talking comedy, "The Sign Painter". This act failed to score this afternoon until they gave the imitations of Bert Williams, Geo. Cohan and various characters of life. 16 minutes. LLOYD'S DOGS: YRR-2: Full stage. Pauline Violi and her troupe of Siberian wolf hounds. They do nothing but jump, and the best we have ever had. 7 minutes, although it seems a big lot of money for such a short act.
