57 TEMPLE THEATER, DETROIT, MICH Jan. 16-J. H. Finn. BARRY AND HALVERS Man and woman in an eccentric comedy act of considerable merit. As they opened the show they did not go as well as they would have if further down in the bill. 17 min. F. S. Can close in one. ADAMINI AND TAYLOR This act is an exceptionally good one in the singing line and is almost too well known for further comment. There act is about the same as on their former appearances here. 14 in one. RIVA BROTHERS This strong-arm act goes as well here as any acts of this kind but I am in doubt if acts of this kind please the great majority of our patrons, particularly the matinee patrons. 9 min. F. S. HARRY KLEIN AND PEARL CLIFTON This singing and dancing act does very well for any bill. While the act has nothing of sensational merit it is fully up to the average acts of this kind and goes well with an audience. 16 min one. JOHN BIRCH This man presents a genuine novelty in which he impersonates all the characters of a blood-and-thunder melodrama by simply changing hats. If presented by a more capable actor it would be a knock-out. As it is he scored a hit with the stunt. 13 min. in one. THE NAVAJO GIRLS. Twelve rather comely young women in songs, dances and instrumental selections. This act is fully up to the standard of the Vassar Girls and in fact it goes stronger than did the Vassar Girls. The feature of the act is the numbers by the Two Roses. 27 min. F. S. GEORGE WILSON This old-time minstrel returned to us with a new line of stuff that pleased the audience notwithstanding he had a hard place on the bill following heavy acts and being down next to the curtain call. He has not deteriorated in the least. 20 min. in one. MAY VOKES & CO Miss Vokes, assisted by Neil McCay, presented "The Model Maid." I cannot recommend this act unreservedly for the reason that the act itself does not permit more than passing notice. Miss Vokes however could become a headliner in vaudeville had she a vehicle more suitable to her undoubted talents. 26 min. F. S. SPOOK MINSTRELS This act consists of five singers who work behind a kinetograph screen on which is shown a minstrel first part. It is one of the best novelties of the current season and goes a long way in showing how the kinetograph can be utilized for vaudeville. While it is still in an embryo state it is strongly recommended. 15 min. in one. This bill will prove to be quite a drawing one for this theater although it is not quite up to the very high standard set by the management.
