60 Papinta, 2 shows, 15 min. full stage -- Went even better than last week, although there was not an extraordinary amount of applause, at that. I fully believe they like the act, however, and think she draws a goodly amount of business. The Mitchells, 3 shows, 15 min. in 1 -- One man and two women, "real coons", in vocal comedy and dancing specialties. Always goes strong here, and this afternoon was no exception. Casting Dunbars, 2 shows, 10 min. full stage -- This act could not have been placed right where it has received adverse criticism, as it was the laughing and applause hit of the show here. I consider the comedian pretty good, for an acrobat, and the audience is certainly deceived by the makeup of the young man who is disguised as a girl. It is an excellent act for any bill, better than the Four Lukens. Searl and Violet Allen, 2 shows, 18 min. in 1 -- In an eccentric talking comedy sketch, with dancing specialties and imitations. One of the best acts of its class in the varieties, and scored a laughing and applause hit. Mary Norman, 2 shows, 20 min. full stage -- First time in five years for this clever and artistic woman, who presented a new monologue entitled, "Masks and Faces", in which she gives impersonations of actresses on and off the stage. In finesse and delicacy it is incomparably the best thing ever offered in this house, and made a big hit. Every impersonation was encored, and at the finish she had three enthusiastic curtain calls. In some houses I rather fancy the act would be beyond the understanding of a proportion of the audiences, and her older offering proved the more popular. Her act will be the most talked of feature of the bill, and will draw a class of people whom we do not regularly cater to. George Evans, 2 shows, 25 min. in 1 -- Blackface comedian and singer. Went with a perfect howl from start to finish, and might have put in much more time than he did without tiring his hearers. worth all the money we pay him. Rose Wentworth Equestrian Novelty, 2 shows, 10 min. full stage -- This act has been described from other houses. It is the best thing of the kind we have had here for a long time, and is quite properly called a "novelty", as that is just what it is in the varieties. Biograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1 -- Showing the following list of pictures: 1. Lady Plumpton's Motor Car. Very funny picture; lots of laughs and applause. 2. Gallery Gods. Big laughing hit. 3. A Race for a Kiss. Interesting picture. 4. Putting up the Swing. Mildly amusing; funny for children.
