67 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, JAN. 30TH'05 H. A. DANIELS. HAPPY JACK LYLE-HR-3-Monologue and songs. Good act to open with. Grotesque makeup. Some of his songs went very well. 10 mins. in one. TOM ALMOND-NH-3-Typical Englishman. Dances on ice skates and wooden shoes. A quick return to relieve the booking. Good three show act. 12 mins. in one. ROSA LEE TYLER-HR-3-Colored vocalist. Selections were not wisely chosen. Has a fair voice and would do well with other selections. Very tiresome. Did not get a hand this afternoon. 11 mins in one. DOHERTY'S POODLES-NH-3-Twelve little white poodles worked by a woman. A good three show act for the money. Liberally applauded. 15 mins. Gar. in 4. BISSET & SCOTT-NH-3-Two boys. Singing and wooden shoe dancing is all that carries the act. Just fair for three shows. 10 mins. in one. MURPHY & WILLARD-GRR-2-Man and woman. Comedy sketch "Have A Doughnut?" Not an unusually good two show act. Their work was good in spots. The lady's vocal efforts were not appreciated, and some of the comedy was a bit under par. However, they got by, with some applause. 20 mins. C.D.F. in 3. Close in one. BROS. BRIGHT-GYH-2-Hand to hand balancers and acrobats. A clever, but quiet act. They make no attempt at speed. A neat, clean-cut hand balancing act. Good. 8 mins. C.D.F in 3. C. W. LITTLEFIELD-GRR-2-Mimic. Quite a good act of its kind. Always goes well here. Went very well to-day. His dressing in front of the glass was a scream. 20 mins. in one. FRANK KEENAN & CO.-MHR-2-Comedy sketch "The Actor and the Count." Third visit here and we could stand something new next trip. Mr. Keenan is very thorough in all his work, an artist, and clever. The act always pleases, but did not get much of a hand to-day. 21 mins. C.D.F. in 3. MILES-STAVORDALE QUINTETTE-YHR-2- Second visit to this house. A really high-class offering. Four banjos and a harp. A very good act. 13 mins. in one. MME. HERRMANN-SRR-2-Brought some new scenery, with a new illusion. Now works in a sort of a cyclorama. Act went very well to-day. It is not an act that calls for a great deal of applause. 29 min. Spec. JOE FLYNN-GHR-2-Monologue and parodies. Gave a very good act to-day and went well. Some of his parodies are very good. good act. 14 mins. in one. ROSS, FENTON & CO.-HRR-2-Presenting a burlesque on "Cleopatra." We had them down to close the show--and everyone waited to see them. Made good in a difficult spot. Good act. Our property man--Dan-- was one of the comedy features. 15 mins. Pal. in 5. of the old reliable "threes," and will never be anything else. Good act for the price and three shows. 15 mins. C.D.F. in 3.
